I wonder if they will revert the increases to realm capacity to encourage people to transfer. Remember that their plan is to get rid of layering in phase 2, so that will require a huge reduction in server populations in Herod and similar servers. Decreasing realm capacities will give people on Herod, etc a friendly nudge out the door.

Very disappointing. Blizzard has officially caved to forum whiners once again, doing something the game doesn’t need. The realms are only a week old, and we’re going to get free transfers, simply because enough people cried on the forums. You know what they should do? Point the transfers to BFA realms.

I really wish you would wait until the population dies down a bit. No one on the current high population servers wants to sit in queue because you allow people to move there.

Either create more servers or restrict the moves to medium - low population ones.

Which will cause quite some imbalance there. As someone else here noted, on his realm the highest char is 30, now all those level 60 can move there and crush them in pvp. It stays a terrible move, Blizzard does one mistake after the other, all their promises back in the days are broken, so sad

If they would open new realms then so be it, let them all move there and then disable the transfers again. But to keep them open and flood low pops with already a community established is terrible for those on these realms.

It’s week 2. Stalagg has 16 60s online right now for horde. There aren’t that many to make a difference on a full realm.

If it’s not available on the target server, you’ll be eligible for a name change, yes. This is standard to any transfer.

Free xfers were introduced when extreme queue’ing happened before, and this is that times five. This is the same situation but they’re quicker to act on it because it’s already happened. You should probably xfer too if you’re lvl 12, I’d assume you’re stuck in the queue as well.

Givin’ in . Hopefully it doesn’t screw those of us on a high pop server during peak times, we are just below the threshold for a queue typically.

Hopefully they only permit transfer to underpopulated realms, or maybe to realms newly created to accept overflow from massive servers.
