Free Boost for 60s?

Question for Blizzard. Why would I spend roughly almost 240 hours game time to achieve something like level 60, to then turn around and abandon it for Retail?

The game just starts at level 60 for some people. Its usually when my playtime increases on a particular character and I feel more invested into them.

So again, you’re rewarding players by playing your game, with a reward to play another game that many of them don’t like. I understand some will think this is great but is this another pseudo attempt to trick investors (with the shared subs showing Retail is doing better then is it) to make it seem like players are migrating from Classic to Retail?

Shareholders be warry.

I am not sure what your topic is about. What boost for what game for hitting level 60 in classic?

Its rumored that once you hit level 60, you may receive a free BFA character boost.

Apparently they are going to be offering free BFA and 110 boosts to people who achieve 60 in Classic.

Blizz is apparently giving out lvl 110 BFA boosts to those who hit 60 in classic.

Oh, ok! Thanks for the clarification.

Seems like an odd cross promotion. But I guess it makes sense. Retail is where they can sell expansions, mounts, faction swaps, etc etc. Classic is just there for them and activision won’t like that much.

From an earnings perspective absolutely it makes sense. From a common sense perspective, it makes almost none.

You expect Actiblizz to look at it in any other way than earnings?

Common sense isn’t as common as I’d like, in all aspects of life.

You do have the option to not use it

Retail WoW has a lot to offer. If such a thing proves to be more than a rumor, it makes sense to give people coming back after a loooong break an in to BfA.

I don’t know if you remember this long ago, but Classic has loooooads of downtime at level cap if you don’t intend to raid. There’s a plethora of stuff to keep you occupied in retail if you’ve never done it before, and getting that for free is a huge boon.

This is why I love Classic so much more then Retail actually. Retail is a never ending grind for that +5 piece that you already have, it sucks to me.

In Classic, I can hit cap, do my things for the day and call it good. Now I have time to do fun things in the game like WPvP or level alts. Retail feels streamlined in almost every regard, including WPvP now.

They’re offering you the chances to trade 240h of your time, for a level 60 character, and level 110 character PLUS the BFA expansion.

If you don’t want to spend your time, but would rather spend your money for BFA + 110 boost that is your choice.

But those playing Classic will have to level a toon to 60 anyways, so for those people they will get BFA + a 110 boost out of it without paying money for them.

Step 1) Level to 60 in Classic.
Step 2) Use free 110 boost to create a BFA toon.
Step 3) Delete boosted toon.
Step 4) Continue to play Classic.

There’s a portion of players, like myself, who already have BFA and a couple 120s. And I despise logging into it. So this reward does nothing for me or people like me.

Some people refuse to play BFA. Classic only. They don’t like it.

My friends that still like BFA, don’t play Classic. Won’t help them.

So the remaining portion of players who not only have a desire to play both games, but the time management around them to play compentnely would seem low relatively. They would benefit from this. A very small crowd.

However, if I can show on my financial books that 1 million 110 Boost have been given out to support current Retail gaming, shareholders who don’t know otherwise would think this benefits everyone.

Yup

P.S. If you don’t post with your Classic toon, I have to assume you’re not a Classic fan.

It’s not supposed to do anything for you. It’s supposed to do something for those who are going to play classic, get to 60, who DON’T have BFA yet or a 110+ toon.

Not everything has to be good for every single person, and not everyone has to have rewards for everything they do.

Come on dude.

Blizzard doesn’t care about you or people wanting to dabble in both. It’s all about the numbers.

I don’t plan on Playing live, so why would I care about other people getting an incentive to play it lol? That’s their business.

Nothing wrong with playing both. You’re complaining about a free gift???

Ok folks, look up your rumors before ranting about them.
It was a tweet for Warcraft in Brazil and was immediately taken down.

De-rustle your jimmies and find something else to be angry about.

He is complaining that HE isn’t ALSO getting a free gift.

It’s about their numbers. Say 1,000,000 accounts reach level 60 that don’t have BFA. That next quarter guess who gets to say they have 1,000,000 new BFA accounts! Earnings reports all day.
