Free BFA Flying

Will we ever get it without grinding reps?

You all should have gotten it by now already, imo.

(For free, I mean. They should have given it to you all by now, with Legion and WoD. I’m Team Flying For Everyone )

It’s already free… you just have to slog through the content to get it.

You aren’t just unlocking one thing, bfa flying, when you do the requirements to unlock flying in bfa. People have this odd idea that they are getting no payoff until the very end while doing things in this game.

Stuff like the above really only happens when you push yourself beyond the usual metrics/standards of completion blizz has set.

Like doing veilstrider gives you many reward along the way right now, so the whole process isn’t “just” a title.

yeah, then it’s not free.

Ah.
There goes my ideas of leveling through BFA later with the EXP buff. I forgot about that.

Maybe I’ll do Cata.

As long as its the starting zone for new WoW accounts Ion ISNT going to allow it not to have a PF grind.

edit…idiotic thing is, DF has pretty much flight from day one…so PF should just disappear for flight for BFA like the rest.

They should just grant flying there now that it’s an old expac, like they have with Legion and Draenor.

Just give it all for free, and never do pathfinder again.

This doesn’t make sense. At level 30, everyone can fly and they can fly in every other zone while leveling.

And this is exactly why it SHOULD be given for free to all now. BfA is the default leveling path now, where the game tries to funnel you to.

I convinced a friend to come back to the game last month when they had the “returning players get Shadowlands for free” promo going on. She hasn’t played in a loooooooooong time, so BfA is 100% new to her. When she hit level 30 and went to train flying, I had to explain what Pathfinder was, and how you can’t even start working on it really until you’re done leveling to 50 – when you get sent to Shadowlands.

This isn’t a new player (or returning player) friendly system whatsoever.

Id give her the comfort of knowing that when DF drops here in a couple months she can leave BFA behind entirely anyway…and if Ion is petulant enough to not just open it up, she can just not do it at all. DF flight will be available pretty much from day one.

Would be nice if they at least give it to anyone who gets to the level to start the new expansion.

I have two friends who I convinced to come back to WoW… and they are enjoying leveling through BfA. Which is great-- I liked the quests when I did them too. But they also are miffed they cannot fly.

However, I have been flying my friends around on my two-seater mounts and questing along with them, and it’s been a blast.

I have more of a problem with the phasing technicalities when it comes to playing with other people than I do about flying. BfA flying will be free come DF, and also you’ll be able to avoid it completely if you want.

No, it doesnt make sense. at all. But Ion has proven he doesnt have to make sense. WoW is HIS game, HiS rules, HIS way or we can walk if we dont like it.
Eng wormholes have had 15 min CDs or less for 3 expansions in a row. Legions having two Reaves batteries made the Legion wormhole literally unlimited use. I have THOUSANDS of felslate in my guild bank for just that use.
Then suddenly Ion decrees, for no good reason, that the DF wormhole will have a 2 hour CD. Ive looked, nothing showing now says it can be reduced.
Why?
Why 15 mins or less for 3 expansions and all of a sudden 15 minutes is a problem?

A 2 hour CD for me makes the wormhole useless. Totally useless, give how I use them.
Why?
Because hes Ion and he says so. No other reason.

Same with pathfinder. He’s Ion. Its HIS game and whatever he decrees may as well be from the king himself.

I dont see him relenting on BFA PF or this asinine wormhole CD OR the absurd, pointless nerfs he made to the loot-a-rang.
Maybe he can prove me wrong, but hes done a spot on job so far of proving me right every time I predict his behavior, right up to and including the fact that he WOULD relent on WoD and Legion flight, removing the PF requirement, simply because he had no real choice if he wanted people leveling there.

With BFA, its a new account starting zone. He has complete freedom to be Ion for as long as BFA isnt tossed back into the old content zone with everything up thru Legion.

I tried to fly my friend around to help with some of the group quests too, and had this same problem. Even with Party Sync on, there were a few areas that phased us apart because technically she was on an unsharable chain quest and I wasn’t, so I literally couldn’t help her. =(

Source for this, as it’s the first I’ve heard of it? o.O

Sorry, that’s an assumption because of what happened with Legion pathfinder-- I don’t think there is actually a source or official word.

Ive got PF on this account if memory serves, for BFA, so its no skin off my nose either way. But Id like to see the PF nightmare slink its way into obsolescence entirely.

Ion doesnt understand something. His name will NOT go down in the history books as the savior of WoW he thinks he is. Because of his perpetual conflict with the player base and his incessant hatred of flight and constantly screwing with a player favored game mechanic, his name will forever be connected with things hated about this game by at least half the player base, be it flight and pathfinder, infantile crap like the lootarang nerf, or stuff like master loot/personal loot, not to mention the godless maddening eterna-grinds like anima, and azerite.

This man is not making a name for himself that is going to be remembered well.
His legacy, his most noteworthy one, will always be his trying to strip flight from this game and so pathfinder being born. Hes never going to shake that stench, sorry to inform him.

Porque no los dos?

You’re flying around on your 2-seater, hit a phase and your passenger gets ejected. Oh my God, it drives me crazy. :triumph:

Well, I am not a fan of the guy but I also don’t think nerfing fun is exclusive to just him. More recently I keep feeling that Blizzard forgets that video games are supposed to be fun.

In any case, I don’t mind PF but prefer just being able to buy flying. The worst part of Pathfinder is that it’s broken up into parts. Most of the requirements for Part 1 I acquire or complete naturally. It’s the part 2 that irks me.
