been playing around with the newly released RDNA3 Fluid Motion Frame (FMF) preview driver on my 7900XT. Works great with WoW. Everything ultra, Raytracing high nearly doubles FPS. Going from 80 to 150+
Hello, I see you posted a thread about frames. AFMF works at the driver level so technically it works on everything! The problem is, depending on the application, it can cause a ton of artifacting! WoW doesn’t really need it either since you can get super high frames on even mid range rigs, haha! Best bet is to wait and see if FSR 3 will get implemented into the game eventually but even that isn’t really needed since raytracing in WoW does basically nothing, haha!
Thanks for your post and have a great day!
with ultra settings and raytracing high the games FPS can absolutely tank, landing in the 50-80FPS range even in a dungeon, so if fidelity is the goal with higher FPS theres most certainly a use case in addition to FSR3
Hello, I see you replied to my post. Yes, it tanks your FPS with basically no improvements graphically to warrant it, haha! Raytracing in WoW mostly just improves shadows and not even that much!
Thanks for your post and have a great day!
I like the softer shadows, and notice especially on player models it makes a big improvement.
To be honest, I think it’s been close to 30 years since I last cared about frame rates in a game.
As long as I got 60+ FPS, Im good.
Anything below that gives me a migraine, lol
FMF is really useless for WoW. It’s not CS:GO, there’s no nanosecond precision responses to individual pixels to train for. If you have a 144hz display but not a GPU that can run WoW at 144fps, you made some kinda mistake in your life.
ok boomer. whatever you say.
The mage tower challenges and most PvP matches in general, especially arena, would say otherwise.
Try playing the game the next time before commenting.
I have nothing much to add to this thread except to say that OP, if you found something tech related that makes your gaming experience better and more interesting, then it’s a good thing.
Hopefully one day soon I’ll be able to relate to what you originally posted.
Til then, I’m just going to have to be happy with my 10+ year old computer and bargain basement monitor (which has lasted years longer than that Samsung I bought and is way cheaper, too).
Anyway, have fun.
Great post 10/10
Absolute truth.
No, the information you need to gain to perform well in those is not related to frame rates above refresh rate. Higher than refresh rate frame rates became a meme from Counter Strike specifically, because of how that game is balanced. The meta is to watch flat edge geometries and try to shoot as soon as the first pixel of a peeker appears. For it to have any purpose, you need to be at an extreme almost inhuman skill level, on an extremely high polling rate server. None of that applies to WoW or almost any other game. Try knowing something before making hostile comments.
lol game gfx is 2010 and need a super pc to run it on high gfx you can’t even see past a threshold lol well enjoy
Hello, I see you replied to the thread. WoW is tab targeting where you don’t have to aim, haha! I’m not sure you understand what you are talking about!
Thanks for your post and have a great day!
If you’re tab targetting in Arena you’re doing it wrong. Especially if you’re a healer.

Best bet is to wait and see if FSR 3 will get implemented into the game eventually
Did they ever even implement FSR2?

Hello, I see you replied to my post. Haha, when was the last time you had to aim your heals!?
Thanks for your post and have a great day!

Hello, I see you replied to my post. Haha, I have no idea but probably not! If you have low frames in WoW, it’s a hardware issue more than anything!
Thanks for your post and have a great day!
