Fragile Pets?

Does anyone else feel like their pet is taking more damage or dying easily? My Clefthoof who’s been my tanky pet all expansion has soloed elites and barely shrugged. Today in Nazjatar a group of murlocs seemed to nearly take him out. I noticed it with my other pets too. Has something changed this patch? Or is it just my imagination?

You need to pay attention to a lot of these mobs. I know they tend to put stacking debuffs on pets/players and it can really suck x.x;

Mechagon was fine aoe farming mobs for my mechanocat parts. Nazjatar on the other hand wrecks my pet.

The elite makura have a damage reflect on melee hit aura. THAT killed my pet a lot.

Yeah Mechagon is no issue it’s definitely Nazjatar. The Makrura are rough! They railed my poor pet as well. :frowning:

I’ve been fine with my core hound, but keep in mind the adds in the new zones are hitting a lot harder. It’s not so much that pets are squishy, just more debuffs and damage going out.

These same mobs tickle when they hit me for whatever reason.

Some of the adds have damn near killed me personally, but the only way to really tell what’s going on is to log a bit and analyze what’s doing the most damage in this respect.

I’m fairly geared, so I may just have more tolerance to some of the adds (my neck already has a new essence and is sitting at 51 right now, so this might be a part of it as well). I say this because you’re both roughly sitting at the same ilvl, so that could definitely be a part of it. This doesn’t look to have anything to do with the passive amount of versatility all of us have, since I did a quick comparison there.

I just learned “dont aoe pull those” in certain areas.

I keep Mend Pet in my rotation and I’ve found Murder of Crows doesn’t help Leech, so I stick with Cobra Shot (and Multi Shot) and use the talent that reduces the cooldown of Bestial Wrath. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen hunters whose pets get destroyed because they don’t use Mend Pet.

It’s not just Naz and it’s not just hunter pets. I noticed it with my felguard and my husband has been leveling his survival hunter. I noticed it on my beastmaster and survival hunters while doing world quests in Zuldazar and Kul Tiras. Definitely feels like a nerf.
