FPS problems unacceptable (Solved)

What the CachelessShaderMode was doing was using your SSD instead of using your ram. Its something Blizz should have foreseen tbh, but thats quality control for ya.

Pretty much. Something that can’t be tested without a greater influx of players as it seems to mostly cache NPC/player models. The oddity here is that it didn’t occur in the beta with 100’s of players in org/sw, so my guess is they have it worked out in the beta but haven’t pushed it to live yet.

I also noticed this last night.

Post your OS and computer specs?

Yup these are what fixed it for me.

Would be nice if blizz posted this for players to see or went ahead and fixed it themselves xD

Probably because they don’t want everyone disabling it before they iron out the issue, and then players forgetting to re-enable it when it’s fixed. They should just put it as a graphics option with a description of exactly what it does.

Reduces the problem, doesn’t fix it.
All addons off, settings low, FPS capped and still experiencing the stutter.

Ran game perfectly fine on high/ultra settings with none of those limitations prior to patch.

Happens in areas with no other players and very few NPC as well.

I am sure they need data from the various systems players are using in order to fully fix the issue. Can’t patch it without knowing what to patch first or how patching it will affect the systems of the public.

You will not be able to completely fix it so dont expect to find an answer for it on the forums. Blizz has to fix it themselves. The console command just forces the issues to be reduced. It is temporary at best.

Windows 10. Using a MSI GP76 Leopard gaming laptop. WoW doesn’t make my system flinch. This is a client side issue.

I have same issue. 0 Addons(never used them).

My PC was using all “high” settings before pre-patch, game set my settings to “good”, I left them there. But I tried LFR and was stuttering and lagging. Don’t get it.

Win 10, 1660Ti, i7-11700k, 16GB ram - Only bought PC May 2021 how can a PC go from so good to so bad in 1 patch?

Yeah everything is so very laggy. It’s unplayable for me. Every time I attack a mic it spikes

I had similar issues but just fixed it. First. Leave Oribos immediately (it’s overcrowded atm) and go to a place like Ironforge/Thunderbluff. Disable vsync. Set max foreground & background FPS ingame to your monitors max refresh rate. Should fix it.

This does nothing. As many have pointed out is something to do with a new shader cache system. When any new assets are rendered in, the game hitches. This happens even in potato mode graphics settings.

Same!

had to disable all addons, turn everything down to “good” and lower my sight distance to …4 just to get it to swing wildly between 5 and 50 fps.

Yep. It’s not a graphical setting causing any problems. Its back-end optimization garbage. People have found a band-aid fix but I am not satisfied with that at all.

The problem has been completely resolved for me and most people with the same issue. Im getting alot of flak for saying that, but Blizzard fixed the problem. There’s apparently some other performance issues going around, but non related to this specific one.

In fact the game runs better for me now than it did before the pre-patch. Frame pacing is completely even now.
