Hi there, ive been having issues i dont know for how long with 25 mans FPS. it wasnt that bad in NAXX (from 60 70 fps to 25 fps) but ever since Ulduar and now TOGC its impossible. i drop sometimes to 4 or 5 fps which not only destroys my performance but also makes it really umpleasant and not worth even playing. ive been reading around the internet and have many variations from addons to WA to cache to even priorities on task manager. what i havent found (since ppl posting this from aug 22) is one single blue post about it. it seems blizz does not concern this issue at all? or they simply know their engine is horrible and dont plan on fixing it at all. for anyone else out there having this issue or actually fixing it, please give some advice. thanks
You’ve been reading it, but have you been following the advice?
Do you experience the FPS issues after you’ve turned off all addons?
Have you tried closing wow, renaming the WTF folder (WTF contains all of your settings and addon saved data, so be careful about deleting it) and then running it again to see if theres any problems?
Do you have different graphic settings turned on in raid versus out of raid? Do the settings look correct for your hardware? Have you tried reducing them to as low as possible?
I can’t say I’ve experienced frame rate drop issues myself, so this may not be a wide spread issue.
I had this problem with some weak auras, but I just turned them off and my FPS was fixed.
You haven’t posted anything useful for anyone that would actually want to fix your problem, but you should try posting in the bug/customer service forum. They usually help pretty quickly, or at least they did for me when I was having latency issues.
visit a friend and log your account on his pc to try 1raid in there and see if fps will drop or not
if you think something corrupt with your game then you can fully delete wow folder and download/install it again.
if you want to check if it’s addon issue then “Disable all your add-ons and play the raid without them to test”
if you wanna check how your PC then during your raid where your FPS massively drops you could check your task manager > performance and see your cpu/gpu/memory usage.
if your pc is struggling then lower all game video settings, general/raid profile
make sure that you have the System Requirements https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/76459
Note that some virus/Trojan can slow your PC so scan your computer, also note that some anti viru’s are a heavy load on pc so check if you have one running during your raid or something
if you’re using 4k screen with 4k resolution, with many spells around in raid you might drop FPS so lower your resolution during raids
try the raid while nothing running on your background…you can end the process for them from task manager.
there could be a script that you typed in game which bugged something for you…if so then you need to contact Customer support and ask about that.
I had huge out of the blue FPS issue on like week 10 of Ulduar on Iron Council. It was not a hardware issue for me. I’m on 13th gen core, i7, 32 ram, RTX 4080
Nothing helped. And I mean nothing. Even removing all addons didn’t help. Running it all on lowest setting didn’t help. I made a backup for addon/cache folders ahead of time. But removing those didn’t help either.
.
Except for full re-install.
I copied my addons/cache folders to a safe location and once re-installed WoW, I copied them back in not to re-set up all my addons.
Yeah Ive definitely noticed fps drops and spikes. I have a asus tuf a15 gaming laptop…nothing impressive in it but I was getting 100+ fps on tbc. Since they updated the graphics tab to retail for some reason my fps sits around 50-60 and goes to 20 in cities. Tried everything apart from fresh install
