Ever since Blizzard put in that new Acrane Forge Valdrakken my Frame rates have crashed down too less then 10 when ever near the city…I have cabled internet which is hard wired to my laptop…these are the specs for the laptop which up till just last few days would run wonderful in game… GIGABYTE G5 GD - 15.6" FHD IPS Anti-Glare 144Hz, Intel Core i5, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 GPU 4GB GDDR6, 16GB Memory, 512GB SSD, Win11 Home Gaming Laptop…I use to avg 30 to 40 fps in Val till the last couple days since they put in that forge…
I have not changed any settings on the laptop either…I have tried by turning off all my addons that hasn’t helped one bit…I am not running any background programs either…
I don’t know if it’s related, but since last week’s reset - every time I load into game - especially in Valdrakkan - on the character that has started the Secrets of Azeroth quest chains, I get minutes of lag on load in.
I have tried disabling all addons and it makes no difference. Half my addons don’t work anyway because they time out trying to load.
Having the Thinking-cap, or Torch or Idol active on load in (If I hadn’t clicked the buff off before exiting game) extended the lag period - at best guess it’s trying to calculate the relative coordinates from my last position when I used the thinking cap.
Characters that have not started the quest chain are unaffected and load into game at normal speeds regardless of what addons I have loaded.
While the event is only ‘active’ for a short time, most of the items and clues will stay in game going forward - I don’t want to have this lag every time I log in from now to when I stop playing the game - as I have obviously used my main character to do the quest chain.
