FPS capped at 60

I just bought a new pc and my FPS is capped at a constant 60 even with the fps locks unchecked in the graphics settings. any way to fix this?

What type of GPU do you have?
What is your monitors refresh rate?

Hi Bigdklord

Looks like Vertical Sync is enabled on the graphics. As Sephrinx mentions - more information would be useful. Can you drop a DXDiag report on Pastebin.

The second section of page has DXDiag report instructions - we don’t require the MSinfo report.

That will be a wall of text. If you have issues pasting on the Forum here go ahead and put it up on pastebin.com. Provide the link code portion of the URL - example below.

(The green bold portion at the end of this example link: https://pastebin.com/Qk28Ed1P <=== this code)

Alternately you can place the link in a Preformatted Text box. Paste the link in the chatbox - then highlight it. Click the preformatted text button along the top of the chatbox - looks like this </>

Will look like this example afterwards:

If you want to try this: Go to display settings (right clic on desktop) , be sure to select your screen, scroll down to screen advanced settings, click on that and choose the good Hz. If it dont work, the vsync is probably activate by default somewhere in amd, nividia, etc.

Hi again Bigdklord

The Asus monitor you have should have shipped with a Display Port cable. Can you give that cable a try. It plugs into ports similar to a HDMI port.

If you open Nvidia control panel - then click Manage 3D Settings. Open the Global Settings tab then look for the Restore button (has green icon in box). Click that - accept the popup box - Apply the changes.
