Forums Warnings?

I wish this web site had a Warning or alert telling you that if you post this you might be banned or held or something. I just posted one thing and I am being blocked. Maybe some kind of redirecting helper. Where is the correct place to put stuff?

Every forum has a description of what it’s for. I suggest you try reading them.

I believe you’re looking for the forum Code of Conduct? You can locate it at https://us.battle.net/forums/en/code-of-conduct/. If not, I’m unsure of what you’re asking for directly…

There is no way you logged onto a blizzard site and expected no moderation.

You don’t appear to be blocked or banned, though your last 2 posts do seem kind of spammy and probably why it was reported. 2 posts with in 10 minutes with basically looks like advertisement.

Try instead of saying site, mod, then making a thread for each mod individually, pick 10 mods and state why you like said mods, and would recommend them.

The moderation on these forums is worse than in-game. You will get banned for saying something on here that wouldn’t even get you in trouble in a kindergarten class room. This forum is the biggest nanny safespace I have seen on the internet. You can say things in-game that you wouldn’t even get a warning for, and then say it on here and get banned. It’s ridiculous and there is no consistency.

Only league of legends is the only one i seen that tells you anything but it still doesn’t tell you who got banned just that a player got banned but no details beyond that.

they sure do, it’s called the code of conduct, go read it

Maybe it’s a robot that does the banning? Mmo-champion has a scrapbot that does bannings etc. I’m guessing there is a scrapbot here too perhaps. I think having bots makes it more convenient than having real people moderate. The one funny think about having a robot moderator is that THEY DO NOT NEGOTIATE nor hear pleas lol.

Actually, you might also face consequences for saying some of the same stuff in game. However, it requires that another player report it since they dont monitor chat in game as far as I know. They do monitor (to an extent) the forums though.

I got a suspension on these forums for telling someone that they needed to work on their reading comprehension. That was literally what I said. There is no way in a million years that anyone would be actioned for that in-game, or anywhere else on the Internet.

This is a forum for the discussion of WoW - not a message board which it appeared your other thread was more of.

and this one which who knows what this was - I agree it looks more like an advertisment of sorts.

Rule of Thumb:

If you ever in your mind have a doubt that what you post might get reported or get you banned? Don’t post it. Either drop the entire thing or reword it so that you feel confident that it won’t get you hit with the banhammer.

Heres a bit from the EULA:

“Harassment, “griefing,” abusive behavior or chat, conduct intended to unreasonably undermine or disrupt the Game experiences of others, deliberate inactivity or disconnecting, and/or any other activity which violates Blizzard’s Code of Conduct or In-Game Policies.”

Which falls under:

" License Limitations. Blizzard may suspend or revoke your license to use the Platform, or parts, components and/or single features thereof, if you violate, or assist others in violating, the license limitations set forth below."

However, its also noted in the same EULA that they can action an account without a reason. So, its up to the GM who reviews the report if they feel that action is necessary.

A good thing to keep in mind though is that the game and the forum are two seperate spaces and the moderation of the forums is necessary to prevent bad behavior and escalation. A slight jab at someones reading comprehension may turn into a very ugly fight, or tomorrow will lead to even worse comments. We dont even have an ignore option here to block communication like we do in game.

Yes, I know what the EULA says. My point is that you could report someone for that in-game and nothing would happen. I have said much worse things in game that I know for a fact were reported and I didn’t even get a warning. The mods on this forum were that kid in kindergarten that told on you for saying poop.

Maybe, maybe not. We would have to ask every person who ever got a chat silence or suspension to actually know if you are correct or not. Like I said, it is at their discretion.

I have been playing for 14 years and have received multiple warnings and 3 hour suspensions in-game for chat. I have been permanently banned from every iteration of the forums prior to this one. I KNOW where the line is for actually getting actioned in-game. It’s not a question of “maybe idk lol” - I can tell you for a fact that no one would get actioned in-game for simply telling someone that they needed to work on their reading comprehension, but you can call someone a doodyhead on the forums and get suspended. There is no consistency and the moderation on the forums is a joke.

Thats all fine and good for personal experience, but it does not make it a fact. Anyway, I’ve pointed out the particulars so I will leave you to it.

Basically, the CoC is meaningless, so just behave and hope for the best.

Because anything even slightly heated can be mass flagged as anything from trolling to harassment and the mods don’t care enough to verify the legitimacy of those reports.
