Forums Glitched - Now Resolved

There is a glitch starting to crop up affecting multiple users across all Blizzard forums where contents of a thread will not load. To work around this click on the title of the thread to load the contents.

Update: This is now resolved. If a moderator sees this, feel free to lock and sink.

Awesome, thanks for the fix.

For any of you Blizzard web devs who might read this: The bug seems to manifest itself most often when a thread has no replies, or you use the scrollbar thingy to move yourself to the bottom of the page. If you load a thread with replies and use the scroll wheel on your mouse to navigate through it, it seems to work fine.

How else would you open the thread if you didn’t click on the title of the post ?

I remember the last time the forum broke, a player had to create a workaround for our post history. Here’s to another almost year of a broken forum. cheers

I am referring to clicking on the title of the thread while you are in the page if it does not load.

Oh I see, never had a problem with it not loading, if I did I probably would have tried to reload the page.

Gets even weirder. Sometimes you’ll see a “Blizz” icon and/or the scroll bar with the numbers where they should be, but empty posts (fixed also by clicking on the title of the thread in the resulting thread page).

We managed to bork the forum software and it hasn’t even been eight months yet. That’s gotta be a new record! :wink:

Edit: I’m wondering if the database and/or software interface is breaking because Blizz was a bit too lenient with how long they allowed certain threads to become, like the GD Lounge thread (it hasn’t been “renewed” in months).

Glad I was able to read this after I reinstalled Chrome and restarted my PC thinking it was something I did :stuck_out_tongue:

First time I came across this problem was for this thread. Thank goodness the directions are in the title!

Thanks man, was beginning to wonder if my web browser was messed up.

It should be noted that in Firefox, borked threads are redirecting to their parent directory instead of showing a thread title with no posts. So clicking on a tech support thread will just redirect back to the main tech support page.

Seems like it’s been a crappy day all around for just about everyone I know. :frowning:

Seems to depend on thread length, one of my long threads I follow it will load the first set of posts, but once you hit the back button on the right or click on the time of the last post it’ll go back to glitched.

Thanks for the tip. Didn’t even look at the thread I was clicking on, just in my frustration was clicking on anything. Randomly hit this one.

I had to switch browsers to make it load, it’s good to know that they are looking into it.
