My post that’s why I made this thread so I could be heard
It’s just sad when people can’t act like grown ups and have a civil discussion
People in favor of BTags are acting like a weird cult lately. You guys are the forum equivalent or Jehovah’s Witnesses.
It’s weird because y’all keep sharing your BTags and yet here you remain on the forums instead of playing with all your new found friends.
If someone uses inappropriate language when calling you a name, you report it and put that player on ignore.
If you feel that mass flagging is an issue, you’re going to hate that b-tags actually help prevent it as you go from having hundreds (5ish per character on your account) of reports down to just a handful that you can use.
In the case of the name calling, battle tags would allow you to instantly ignore their entire account. They can’t just hop (Easter pun!) on another character to continue trying to harass you.
Battle tags do not provide any access to private information, so there’s no issue with “anonymity”.
I was being civil, I even used myself as an example.
I can’t control how the voice in your head sounds when you read my post, that’s all you reacting to an opposing view.
Then people probably felt you were trolling which is what it appears you are doing here and that is why this thread is buried.
So the crux of the issue seems to be that people want the ignore feature to be account wide instead of character specific
Except you left out the people who probably have their character name in their btag. Hence why we need free btag changes.
That’s been an issue I’ve noticed a lot is that when someone doesn’t share the same opinion people automatically think you’re trolling well people don’t agree in reality
So you are upset because they ignored your opinion and didn’t engage. Isn’t that what you recommended that they should do earlier?
This you is you isn’t it?
Absolutely. Blizz already offered one free one, so if people made the mistake of making their name public, that’s something that should be addressed immediately (via a ticket) as that info can already be accessed in-game.
No, there’s a lot more to it. You even left out the first part about how it would solve the “mass flagging” issue.
Since you’ve already seen all the positive reasons in the other thread, there’s no reason to re-iterate them again. Have a look for one of Mirasol’s amazing posts that contain a large number of reasons.
I’m still waiting to hear a valid one for being against them (other then people making the mistake of changing a public facing game tag into their real name).
Disagreeing is fine until it progresses to attacking and name calling. If flagging is being abused mods can and do unflag posts.
When it’s just like two people having a sidebar that buries other individual responses it’s hard to have a good dialogue and yes anyone can just ignore something they don’t want to interact with but lack of visibility shouldn’t be the deciding factor
And this is good dialogue? You’ve done nothing but make weak arguments against battle tags and complain for 113 posts because you were not getting enough attention in the thread.
But I guess you’ve got the attention you wanted. Congrats.
Yes that’s true I’ve had it happen to me the mods are good at their jobs I’ve been penalized rightfully and can accept when I step over the line but I really think people abuse the system to silence opposing viewpoints
No there are alot of negative people in this post that’s for sure but there have been some constructive discussions
Just make the features account specific on the backend but leave the ability to change avatars just like you can now simple fix and good compromise
And they can accomplish that easily by adding b-tags to this forum just like they’re used on the rest of the blizz forums. Simple fix and since they’re designed by Blizzard to be our Public facing gamer tag, it just makes sense!
My post count has officially went past my achievement count.
I have finally beat the game.
the ignore feature is block lite. ive personally never used it but if it works like the flag, people just ignore someone and then open to see what they said anyways. so it’s pointless to have bc ppl wont use it correctly lol. u hate someone so much but u keep wanting to read their posts despite ‘blocking’ them. so players dunno how to use a feature correctly. ive been supposedly ignored but they replied to me right after the announcement.
meanwhile we have or had like 2 mega topics on btags, and another goin large and several mini ones. so i guess its time to report those ppl too?
false. they already said it’ll be difficult to implement bc the code of these forums are out of whack or something. a blue said it.
