“WoW is copying Fornite, we’ll probably see transmog skins for sale in the cash shop”
“Why do you hate fun? WoW was always silly”
Can someone explain to me the logical leap and thought processes that go into this exchange?
Warcraft was always silly, with it’s poop quests and exploding sheep.
And the muscular easter bunnies smoking cigars.
And the drunk panda people practicing martial arts.
And gnomes. Basically Wall-E turned into meat by C’thulhu.
But when Blizzard dares to add something silly that is similar to something else in another game which is popular to hate people lose their dookie.
Despite the fact that Warcraft was always silly.
It doesn’t make sense. And this sort of knee jerk reaction to the harmless fun that you don’t like is exactly the sort of thing that leads Blizzard to nerf harmless fun that you like.
Because someone else hates the harmless fun you like.

I expected Blizzard to do a little better than copy-paste Fornite skins. But I guess thats what the young people want. Who am I to stop them?
Fortnite did not create the concept of onesies and I doubt they have a Whomper onesie in Fortnite for Blizzard to copy-paste from.
Also: Don’t hate on the youth just because they will outlive you. Just as you find the things they like ridiculous, they find the things you like ridiculous and so does the previous generation.

It is ridiculous.
One of it’s fins is a sock and you can see heart-pattern underwear under the zipper.
But I like ridiculous. I grew up watching Power Rangers and Pro-Wrestling. I’m fine with silly things. Whether it’s this low budget Murloc cosplay or the yeti pajamas.
And if I weren’t, I would simply not use them. Let the people who enjoy them enjoy them. I lose nothing when someone else transmogs a yeti onesie.

I don’t think cosmetics like these are anything new. Look at other old rpgs with a cash shop. They got a whole bunch of cosmetics they put up there, long before fortnite became a thing.
This is the type of stuff a boomer would say. Give it a rest.
