Sadly we have no proof about that. We can just presume this for now and nothing tell us the opposite.
The story tells us the Night Elves go to live in Amirdrassil. We have nothing in the lore, in the books or in the game to say us Night Elves are still in Kalimdor (Darkshore and Ashenvale) for now and they rebuild their cities here.
Only conjectures aren’t a valid point to say Night Elves are still in Kalimdor after saying they will go in Amirdrassil.
In the PTR, we get assets for their future city but nothing in Darkshore or Asenvale (not even an update of the old assets).
Well, exploring Kalimdor does state the night elves control those areas.
This with the fact that nowhere it has been said they were leaving Kalimdor and the German interview where a blizzard employee said that the amirdrassil is “a home” and not their final home brings to the educated guess that Kalimdor hasn’t been left behind in universe.
Of course, in game is another story, If we go to ashenvale we will still be seeing Cata ashenvale, Darkshore will be 8.1 darkshore and so on, I hope they eventually update these areas, but that is something that should be done to all EK and Kalimdor, night elves should not get a priority in this subject (nor should they be left behind)
Yes, the Blizzard employee whose role and credibility in speaking officially for narrative development is unknown.
Assistant Lead Quest Designer according to linkedin profile, I guess thats good enough for me.
When the game with newer information says (not shows, SAYS) one thing and some books (kinda) say another thing, why would you go with the older source of information to be reliable? Especially with Blizzard’s disregard for consistency.

There isn’t any newer information showing or saying something different in game or outside.
Literally everything about Amirdrassil, the dialogue, the cut scenes.
That is your interpretation of the texts, not what is said.

So why don’t you enlighten us and tell us what -is- said?
Amirdrassil is the new home of the Night Elves.

You all get an entire major content patch and a raid all about rebuilding your home.
Go cry a massive river about it.

The thing is though saying it is their new home does not mean it’s their only home now. I know wait and see is a bit of a meme at this point, but we really do need to wait and see what this means for the night elves.

Probably 300 different people have told him this throughout the 700 different threads about this and he still wigs-out about it.
Legitimately wasting time typing anything out in response to him lol.

The funny thing is, most of the NE fans I talked to in game are absolutely loving the latest patch. It’s a feel good moment for a lot of people and the zone itself is beautiful.

I’m glad people are enjoying it, I certainly have! It’s always important to remember that the views we share here don’t represent the entire community.

I am super curious what the transition to the constructed version of Bel’ameth will look like. Will we have quests to construct it? What NPCs will we see lurking about. I am hoping for a good spread of representation.
Judging by the PTR pictures I think you posted, it does look like we’re going to get some more story bits involving Amidrisaal. Not sure if we will build it or not, but I do hope to see equal representation too.
And I also hope blizz eventually does the old world Kaldorei buildings with this new design, the new buildings are beautiful
I hope this is the last expansion that we will have NE players crying over a pixel tree.
We are about to embark in a 7+ years saga of doom and gloom( with anduin as the head of the cast) ao can we have at least some peace for now?
