Forsaken of all races

Why not? At this point there’s been plenty of death to go around so I’d assume any race could be forsaken. If sylvanas is the progenitor of the forsaken and she is an elf, it only stands to reason there would be more correct?

Because until recently, they could only revive fallen humans. It was until Darkshore that they could then raise unhumans into forsaken.

I may be missing something but in the intro quest doesn’t she use val’kyr to raise humans into undead? Are humans just special that way

I mean, I wouldn’t mind if it were a mix of Human and High/Blood elf as I’m pretty sure the Lich King raised quite a few elves into the army of the dead.

Well you could argue that humans being stunted Vrykul, it’s just easier for the Val’kyr to raise them.

Example of in game text about the limitation, which apparently can be broken now as they raised fallen NEs on Darkshore.

It makes sense really: Valkyr were initially designed to raise fallen Vrykul for Odyn’s Valarjar, so it makes sense that they’re able to raise humans but not other races at first (with the exception of Death Knights, who it seems the rules don’t quite apply the same for, and Sylvanas herself at the cost of three Valkyr)

Sylvanas’s Valkyr have had a lot of experience with other races over the years, so they can finally raise others like we see in Darkshore, but it still has a high chance of failure and requires a fairly involved ritual to make it a guaranteed success like we see with Delaryn

To be fair, weren’t the Death Knights raised directly by the Lich King who’s on another entirely on the necromantic magics?

The DK’s initial raising yeah, but for whatever reason their ability to revive DKs in the DK opening seems to break the usual “can’t revive nonhumans” rule.

Most likely it’s related to them being animated by raw death magic via what we now know as the Helm and Frostmourne’s Domination magic, so they’re not exactly re-raising them like with other scourge, but just recharging their death magic and the DK raises themselves (which looking back, was actually a thing Unholy could do in Wrath)

Well, “raise” and “revive” are kind of two different things really. One is a transformation type of deal, the other is basically resuscitation.

A more important questions is…Why can’t Forsaken be Druids?

Throughout the game we see dead/rotting creatures that could easily be used as shape/forms for Forsaken Druids.

I know - I know…LORE LORE LORE !!!
