Except that we defeat him and he wanted Anduin to kill him, but Anduin refused. So much for wiping the floor with us. Oh, but I'm sure it was just a ploy to be captured, right? Right...

Right, because its not him we're going to rescue, its the other two prisoners you have that are vital to our success.

Lol... yeah, because your Orc racial leader and war hero isn't vital to your success. Rationalize it however you need to.

I mean, we really do rescue him like 5 minutes later lol

Even if Odyn held a grudge against Sylvanas for the deal with Helya (which, remember, he has no way of knowing about)

Play through halls of valor again some time. You know those background characters you've been ignoring who say something to the effect of (during hyrja's ascendance...there's a bit more dialogue, but the pertinent points are below):

"Mortal intruders approach!"

"I witnessed their deeds in Stormheim. Their kind has no honor, no true virtue!"
(emphasis added)

I'll give you three guesses who said it. If you said eyir, you get a golden mead stein sticker!

If you think she didn't fill odyn in on what helya and the lich queen were up to in Stormheim, not just for tactical purposes, but also for who was making deals with helya and why...I have a bifrost to sell you.

As for the lich queen boy toy upgrade for all undead players...

...I thought you guys were playing the "we're not all like the lich queen" card? A bit hard to do that when it involves similar methods if you want to look pretty like her boy toy.

Also, for any of you who want this (or support it) who made any posts against those asking for High Elves:

::insert all of your posts here::
I just want an option to stand up straight.
So you want to play a red-eyed human? We already have humans, you can play them on the Alliance. :^)
I love Nathanos' model. They really should let players be like him -- Blizz needs to stop making players feel like inferior, less cool versions of NPCs.
Why would they give the most iconic alliance model to the horde? Forsaken already have their own unique undead human model. The only way this would work is if they gave the orc model to the alliance which would be highly unlikely.

those Windrunner sisters have always had a thing for human men (guess the belf men just weren't manly enough).

There’s nothing elf folks love more
Than going downtown and slummin’ it with the poor
They pull up in their carriages and gawk
At the humans in the common
Just to watch them talk
Take Lireesa Windrunner: the woman's loaded
Uh-oh, but little does she know that
Her daughters, Sylvie, Alleria, Vereesa
Sneak off to Capital City just to watch all the guys at—

Work! Work!

Alleria!

Work! Work!

Vereesa!

Work! Work!

And Sylvie!

Work! Work!

The Windrunner Sisters!
Honestly, the ugly !@# Undead models have kept me from playing that race for a really long time.

Call it an Allied Race if you have to, give them something to grind.
Yes these models and a sanlayn or whatever they are called vampire class please!!! and no blood dk and warlock do NOT cover it

I'm referring to the above. Personally, I don't see why all Forsaken must be the zombie style Undead we've been used to so far. I'd like to see a spectrum of Forsaken, from the current zombies we have, to the Chinese Forsaken without exposed bones or torn up armor, like so...

...and ending with Nathanos Blightcaller style Forsaken, fresher Undead who weren't already rotting when they were turned into Forsaken.

It'd also be beneficial for the Horde, as it'd give them the closest thing they'd have to a "human", albeit a dead one.

It'd be easy to implement, too, since it's essentially just a normal human, but with pallid flesh and glowing eyes. So how about it, Blizzard? Any chance we can get Forsaken Undead player models in the style of the new Nathanos Blightcaller? Because in all honesty, I'd race change this character to Horde in a heartbeat if I could play something like that.

I couldnt agree more. I would love to play this new style. Given the fact Ion discriminated against "High Elven" fans I have some doubts. #HoldingOutforaHero
Sure you guys get blightcaller we get high elves sound fair?

Otherwise what would your lord ion say ah yes "The Alliance is waiting for you"

For the record I am in favor of you getting them if we get high elves in return.
No, they would look to much like human. They would "blurr the lines" lol
Okay okay, hear me out:
Two forms.

Let's work through this in stages.

The forsaken have lingering Val'kyr energy in them from their raising. It's residual run-off from the Lich King, yes, as the Scourge Val'kyr were getting recharged by the Ner'zhul helmet. But that energy is there, yes? Fel, tinged with Void due to its titanic origins before it was corrupted by the scourge touch. While "Blightcaller" may have gotten his re-fleshing from a second direct burst of this energy, other forsaken still have bits of it lingering in their bodies. It's the very thing that animates them. Could they not draw it out to rejuvenate themselves, albeit temporarily? Isn't that like shortening a processor's runtime to increase its output (an overclock)?

Forsaken are always pitted against the Worgen. It's like, their thing. And reasonably so; it's a "Vampires versus Werewolves" trope. If they were lined up in direct parallel, it would create a foundation for some intriguing cinematics. Picture this: a Gilnean Army and a Lordearon Army are lined up in a field, in full battle gear. They start to charge at each other. On the one side, a fog of leaves and smoke occludes the view of the Gilneans and they emerge as Worgen. On the other, a burst of plague erupts out of the bodies of the soldiers and they charge forth as a zombie swarm.
Depicting vampires as flesh eaters has been done before, but giving the putrescent that presentation is unusual. And think how horrifying it would be to think about... this creature that looks human but doesn't quite smell right, and then out of nowhere it starts to rapidly decay. It draws a nice parallel to that folktale about the skull that rented a body to go lure a wife at market.

It doesn't have to be their original body, either. They could have stitched something together from all the people they killed. The forsaken are not above such atrocity; every Abomination is testimony to that.
Getting a humanesque form would also open up some intriguing story options for the race. They'd be able to effectively infiltrate, spy on, and sabotage human settlements. That's the kind of behavior you'd expect a Forsaken to conduct, but as of yet has been impossible due to the level of their desiccation.

Lastly, the idea of concentration-based freshness is just so original and unique. Can you imagine mistaking one of these forsaken for a human, flustering them, and then watching as boils of green ooze form and burst all over their body, reducing them to a withered mass? It's so horrifying it gives me shivers; that's some cool fantasy horror, that is.

=====
As for the High Elves, well... I like Void Elves; they have more places to go. If I were developing them, I'd've set a similar toggle versus combat trigger with their void form (I mean, there's already precedence for it with Alleria). Such would have been a compromise to please the widest audience. While I regret that you didn't get what you wanted (albeit some of you wanting a whole new race instead of more customization struck me as strange) I would hope that brainstorming new features wouldn't be blasted down by sour grapes. Please remember that nothing is set in stone and sometimes compromise is necessary. If something like "Blightcaller" Forsaken helps you gain ground on your own position, isn't that a good thing?

At least Nathanos doesn't look exactly like a human, you know... like how the Blood Elves look exactly like the High Elves... because the Blood Elves are, what used to be, the overwhelming majority of the High Elves.
personally I'd be happy to NOT have my bones bleed thru everything I equip armor wise.
Why play an undead if you're not a cool zombie? Seems like a waste to me.
This seems like an awfully poor time to bump this thread. Very poor timing.
Don't worry horde will get whatever they drool about. Ion will make sure of it.
