If the class skins thing is real for 10.0, I hope they add the ability for void elves and forsaken to be “Dark Templars” and use the paladin class abilities.
Just thinking about it makes me so excited.

Forsaken don’t need class skins for paladins they can use the light. Void elf paladin just sounds stupid I’m sorry.

Void Elves should never get Paladin. We all know it’ll be 0 seconds before the posts change to “just give us a glyph to be regular paladins too blizzard”

It’s not the same thing. Demons have used the Light before. Hell, demons have masqueraded as people using the Light. Or have become light infused. There’s a stark difference between an eredar cosplaying as a dark paladin and a void infused being somehow becoming a paladin.
Not a fan of the idea.

My only issue with this is class order halls and any potential future things like that.
If they find a way of not saying the light is used, then I don’t see why not
I’d roll a void elf paladin if they are renamed to something edgy, and have twilight/void spell effects and names for their abilities.

Oh, I really like that idea as long as it is clear in name and presentation all the spells are void, not light.
We already have dark paladins, they’re called Death Knights

I could see void elf paladins being a thing if they went full in with high elf stuff . . . there was a reddit post not to long ago with a concept that looked good, ya know regular paladins for high elf stuff and a voidy version for void elves . . . fel add a true blood knight skin for blood elves and a sunwalker skin for tauren and you COULD have something there! Still not sold on undead paladins as they are now, but lets see what Calia brings with her.

I believe there is a void elf paladin in game already. I noticed one the other night doing Island expeditions. I though he was a warrior but he bubbled and healed himself.

No, if it’s not from the light cosmology, it’s not a paladin. Ask for a new class.

I’m guessing it’s because:
- Paladins are a staple of high fantasy works and the class fantasy of a holy knight is inherently attractive to people, mainly those who prefer the Alliance
- Ret has historically been a “turn your brain off” spec for people who want to DPS but don’t want to learn a more complex spec, even if its numbers in PvE are on average underwhelming
- Paladins have only 8 races to choose from, the third-lowest behind druids (7) and demon hunters (2), and if you’re Horde you only have 3 options while the Alliance has 5
The push for undead paladins is because undead have been shown to be able to use the Light even if doing so causes them terrible pain.
The push for void elf paladins is mainly because the Alliance still has no elven paladins to play as, so it’s either them or night elves, but some people will swear up and down that two night elf paladin NPCs aren’t enough for the whole race to get the class.
Mag’har should be added to this list.
Shadowmoon clan Darkcasters could easily develop a group that wear plate and apply the void to their attacks.
