Hi All, before i spend decades farming, does this still drop? i haven’t played in a long while and when i do a google search, it only brings up classic.
Google can be forgiven for favoring the Classic game WowHead database for vanilla items, since overwhelmingly it’s Classic players that are interested in those items. However, within WowHead, once you’re looking at the Classic page for an item, you can switch to the Retail version of the same item with a menu selection.

Not a very high drop rate from a very narrow selection of mobs, which is consistent with the farm grind I recall back in vanilla.
thanks for the reply. yeah i remember farming it lol. i haven’t played in a long time and i started a new enchanter, hence the drop question. i heard they got rid of it with cataclysm (when blizzard broke the world lol) so i wasn’t sure.
No, the mob that drops it changed in Cataclysm, but the formula still drops. You have to get it on a character that has not done the questline in EPL that turns the mobs friendly–enchanter or not doesn’t matter. I’ve farmed it a few times in the last couple of years and it never took longer than an hour.

Yes! I remember farming this back in vanilla. It used to just drop from the Scarlet Spellbinders, and those were only found in a few spots in the Western Plaguelands. Good memories!
