Forget WM imbalance. Prepare for Faction imbalance at this rate

I have noticed that since the implementation of Against The Odds, many horde players are switching to Alliance to get this bonus. This, in turn, will start a Faction imbalance that was supposed to be solved by the Server Mergers.

Here’s my solution before this happens:

If you turn WM on, you are locked in for a 30 day time period. In that time, you can not turn it off. This will start correcting the abuse happening where people turn it on when they go out in an insanely large group to farm and shutting it off upon turning in the completed quest. This will now force the player to remain a potential target so the other faction actually has a hope in hell to do their factions quest.

My personal use of WM is I now only have one character that uses it. I never turn it off because I am on a PvP server. However, the characters I play much less NEVER have it on because I know if I plan on doing dailies to gear them up or finish quests, it’s pointless to have it on. Even implementing WM was foolish. Don’t want to PvP, don’t be on a PvP server. Want to PvP, be on a PvP server. Problem solved.

In closing, I think it’s time to delete this clearly broken system and just leave the weekly quests up. The gear and rewards are specifically designed for avid PvP players and it should remain so. It wasn’t broken, so there was no need to fix it by creating such an easily abused system.

I do miss the old pvp system. I used to gank alot of raiders outside their raid.

The first time Alliance had AOO a few HARDCORE raiders swapped faction (And then swapped back…) for the ilvl 400 reward during the world first push in BoD. Since then the reward was nerfed down to 385 gear, and the world first push is over. No one is faction swapping for 385 gear. I’m not sure where you came up with this hare-brained idea.

No one is swapping to Alliance to get an extra piece of normal raid gear every few weeks.

Out of curiosity, what people have you been noticing doing this? Is your guild losing people to faction transfers? If guilds are transferring en masse, can you name some?

Currently, there are 6% more Horde players than Alliance at 120.

I still see it happening outside of mythic +, portals.

I love when I phase in crazy low on health and dots me me. My non warmode party members are like what happened?

Me: I was ganking some of their party and the rest came. I am not going back out there, no summon for you lol

That’s not much of a difference. I’d say they are pretty much as balanced as they could be right now.

EDIT: Also, nice to see you outside the story forums.

You do know there actually is a faction imbalance at the moment, it just happens to favor the Horde. So players switching to Alliance would actually help that.
