Forest Troll Race/Customization Megathread

A disappointment and nothing close to Zul’jin, don’t even compare this to our greatest Warlord. This short, I don’t now what to call it hair cut, does not compare to him. Not even to his BC hair cut, no. I prefer his HotS one (nostalgia from back in the days of WC2).

A mowhawk after this example would be nice (for players).

And dreadlocks for sure.

This is the closest we could get to resemble Zul’Jin.

@OP

I am not sure if it was already posted here:

I strongly disagree.

We went to Zandalar and trolls still gained nothing :frowning:

It appears that only elves and humans will get in depth customizations

Sadly yes. They could have added so many tribes.

For example:

  • The Revantusk are part of the Horde and want to help, even unite the Forest * Trolls (Primal Torntusk).

  • The Frostmanes are struggling and could need help from the Horde to protect their homeland.

This would give us both Ice and Forest trolls.

The green skin at least is no work and easy to be added. Troll fans want those tribes to be added since the beginning of WoW, especially how beloved Zul’jin is.

Elder Turntusks says: " We are proud to call ourselves the last tribe of Forest Trolls to serve the Horde. In time, we will overcome the other tribes, and the dwarves, and the Hinterlands will be ours. "

https://wow.gamepedia.com/Elder_Torntusk

" The Horde has done much for us Revantusk, and we’re no freeloaders. With the other forest troll tribes pushed back, we’re striking out to claim more land in the name of the Horde. But now the Wildhammer dwarves are getting in our way. If it’s a war they want, it’s a war they’ll get… and I don’t plan to lose a war to creatures half my height. Get out there and kill me some dwarves. "

https://wow.gamepedia.com/The_Savage_Dwarves

Primal Torntusks said:

“Today we make the first strike at the heart of the savage Vilebranch tribe. Show no mercy, ; this is no longer just a spat between trolls. Every victory of the Revantusk is a victory for the Horde! The Vilebranch headhunters and witch doctors will be the first to go. Make your strike against the lower terraces and report back to me with blood on your weapons.”

https://wow.gamepedia.com/Start_Taking_Back

"Only the strongest and foulest Vilebranch are left now. The soul eaters and blood drinkers, foul worshippers of the evil god Hakkar.

They are FOOLS! They cling to old, defeated beliefs. I won’t tolerate their crimes against the Revantusk any longer.

Strike the final blow. Claim Jintha’Alor for the Revantusk… claim it for the Horde! "

They are even using Horde flags / banner in their village and using Horde tabards battling against the Wildhammer Dwarves.

https://www.wowhead.com/npc=42536/revantusk-stalker

Their text make it rather clear they vie themselves as members of the Horde. They want to conquer for the Horde.

The Revantusk Speaker in BFA are talking about friendship to the Horde.

https://wow.gamepedia.com/Revantusk_Speaker

How can they not be a option for players? They clearly are fighting for the Horde. The Revantusk are loyal and take pride to “serve the Horde”.
They need to become a customization option for Trolls.

You know, I never saw any of the Revantusk Speakers in my time playing BfA. I never knew they made an appearance and said these things:

“Da Revantusk be rememberin’ da Horde’s help. We be ready to pay it back.”

“We be a long way from da Hinterlands, but know that da Revantusk always be friends to da Horde.”

It makes me wonder why they went for Sand Trolls as a customization option first, since to my knowledge, there aren’t any current Horde friendly Sand Troll tribes unless they write something in the game (which I’m worried won’t get explained).

Not to mention that Forest Trolls as a customization option would go very well with Wildhammers. Maybe even make a microevent where there is a push to take over the Hinterlands for each side. If Blizzard went with the whole “Kalimdor is for Horde and Eastern Kingdoms is for Alliance” theme, then the Revantusk could get displaced and have a reason to be adventuring and helping the Horde so they can get their homes back. Not to mention they would make great adversaries to the Wildhammer in things like world quests and such.

Unless by adding playable Forest Trolls, they want to do something with the Amani since they did use to be part of the old Horde a long time ago. I find it really hard to see that happening unless they did some major writing, seeing the kerfuffle with them and Blood Elves. Not impossible, but a bit of a hill to climb in that regard.

At any rate, consider me a supporter. Maybe the Revantusk needs to get with the Stonemaul Ogres and other unrepresented Horde clans and races to help campaign for playability status.

Some of them worked with the Zandalari that’s my only guess. But taht’s also the case for others.
I asked this question myself. I am glad we are getting those new options I love it. But the Revantusk are deferentially missing.

Exactly this. The Revantusk are the perfect counter to the Wildhammer and the new Voidelf customization. They are also the probably most wanted customization (with beards) for Trolls in general. Forest Trolls are beloved by many players.
I hope we will get a green skin.

Really curious why we haven’t seen forest or frost troll some yet…

It is one of the strange things so far. Perhaps they will toggle it to a different face shape or something? I don’t get why a green skin option at least is not a thing yet.

Especially after the Wildhammers are now available as a customization option. Forest Trolls should be too.

Wow, she’s beautiful! <3

I’m back to show my support. Trolls need more love.

I personally like this combo even more: https://i.imgur.com/OAEbvkH.jpg?1

2nd face option + face paint.

Reforged added so many options that it would be a delight to have in WoW

I’ve been wanting to respond to this post for a week now, since it’s great, but I haven’t thought of much worthwhile adding, hence my week late response. I figured I’d toss some images on a few things.

Horde crates basically all share the same model, and are more or less everywhere, but they’re in Revantusk Village with the Horde flag on them.

The crates don’t show something nearly as meaningful like the banners or the quest/speaker dialogue, but I figured it was worth mentioning.

They’re also using a low resolution version of the Orgrimmar guard boots/gloves, but that’s almost certainly a coincidence. It could mean something, though, using a more Horde styled uniform instead of traditional uniforms. Probably looking too much into it tbh, but I again figured it was worth mentioning.

I’m for that, give Horde it’s missing two WC2 races, since Alliance are getting their two missing ones. Ogres and forest trolls are also my most wanted races out of personal preference, so I’m biased. Speaking of ogres, though.

The innkeeper in Revantusk Village is actually an ogre. His clan isn’t specified but considering this is Cataclysm we’re taking about, and that the story in the Hinterlands took place before that of Tanaris, we can conclude this guy is a Stonemaul ogre.

I’ve also seen the argument by an anti-ogre player (who also didn’t show he was very open minded to accepting that he was wrong when he was blatantly wrong) that there’s no Horde aligned ogre in any major Horde city. For one, that’s not true, because there is one in Dazar’alor. But two, even though Revantusk village isn’t a major Horde city, since it’s not a city, it is last we knew, the capital of the Revantusk, so there is both a Horde aligned ogre in a major Horde city, but also another Horde capital.

The Revantusk did probably conquer Jintha’Alor, but we don’t know really what they did with it afterwards if they did conquer it. Military fortress, new city, new capital? We’re not sure, can just make reasonable assumptions. But if Blizzard does ever reflect it in game, I’d like it to be the new Revantusk capital, and hopefully have Lard move over, to further disprove the non-fact that there’s no ogres in any major Horde city. I’d also like to see both ogres and forest trolls moved into all the other major Horde cities, too, to help solidify their existence and membership within the Horde, but that’s a bit of a tangent, albeit an on topic one.

:man_shrugging:
Especially forest trolls. They’re spending resources on developing new assets to give to us, which is great, but what is probably the most requested asset is already here, why not just toss some underwear on the skin and pass it our way?

Man, those beards. The fact WoW hasn’t added beards yet and that they haven’t been datamined yet is a true mystery.

This must be the “Horde bias” I heard so much about

Just found this on Wowhead.

There is no evidence of the skin tone - the staff team chose to display the skin tone for models, sorry for misleading

This is in reference to the green skin which further confirms what that dataminer I linked in the OP said, it wasn’t datamined then and hasn’t been datamined recently either.

Edited into the OP.

Sorry I didn’t read the thread so I might be repeating someone else.

Its not fair that Alliance is getting customization for an iconic WC2 race if the Horde can’t have their equivalent. I really support them adding forest trolls in any way possible.
