I would say it’s likely they’ll touch up the Plague lands as well, as I would imagine would be necessary. Whether or not there would be new playable content such as quests and the like there depends on exactly what they’d want to do.
Though, even if it’s just Quel’Thalas, there’s still a lot to work with, especially with the regions of the map previously untouched like “Northern Lordaeron” and the east in the Amani mountains.
Very much this. I feel like people are setting themselves up for disappointment here. Midnight is about the void’s attack on Quel’thalas and a big reunification of the elves, whatever that will mean. Places like Gilneas and Lordaeron just have nothing to do with these themes.
I think Gilneas would be such a terrible spot for the Alliance’s hub in Midnight. Think about it, they would have their hub in a place completely removed from the rest of the expansion. Alliance players would be unable to fluently move from their hub to the any of the expansion’s zones, being so far away from Quel’thalas. They would be stuck behind loading screens everytime they go in or out of the city. Nor do I think any revamp of the rest of Gilneas would go the way players would naturally want it to. The zone is completely irrelevant to the story being told, so I don’t see the chances of it being revamped into a full fledged zone of Midnight to be likely. It’ll likely mean a half assed attempt because Blizz would rightfully want to spend their time and resources in places more meaningful to the expansion.
If separate faction hubs are done for Midnight I would imagine it would be something closer to Mist or WoD’s hubs, which if I remember correctly where not very popular. Go into Midnight with realistic expectations, don’t ruin the expansion for yourself.
My guess is that there’s islands & extended lands nearby the shores that are apart of it.
Keep in mind the Sin’dorei have a dock where they station their ships — It wouldn’t be too far fetched to state aside from military purposes, they were used to get around to their other nations too.
Elven unification will be the only pretext for Silvermoon to become a neutral capital in Midnight.
I just hope Blizzard adds an alliance district for high elves and void elves.
Yeah reclaiming Stratholme would be cool as hell, I highly doubt it’ll happen but with (I presume) Quel’thalas no longer being instanced it’ll be really close to the action, much more so than Gilneas.
Then what would happen to Silvermoon???
Ew no, Alliance shouldn’t be forced to go in there at all.
Well we cleansed the city yonks back.
IIRC the paladins & argent factions set out to purify & restore the city after we finished the dungeon.
Given that was all … Well, years ago – and the Plaguelands were getting restored at the point in time we could see from the towers, the restoration for most of – if not the entirety of the area should be complete.
Instead of it being ‘Eastern Plaguelands’ — I’d wager it would be back to its original name of ‘Eastern Lordaeron’ … Albeit new threats would arise, with others lurking beneath the shadows.
I want all cities to be expanded: Gilneas, Silvermoon, Suramar, Stormwind, Orgrimmar… And I wish we had kept and revamped Teldrassil… But one can hope… Unfortunately this is a theme park and not a sandbox MMORPG.
We will defend Quel’thalas from the Void is all they said. The major continent might be a void world and not the High Home. Everything else is speculation.
Alliance getting territory in blood elf land doesn’t feel right. Why would you even want to live in a place that you would always have to look over your shoulder.
Silvermoon isn’t used a capital for either faction and instead is overtaken by the forces of Xal’atath, become a mid to end expansion raid.
But then where do we stay? Dalaran is supposedly destroyed, Undercity and Lorderon are too far away, maybe a new Argent Dawn base to the south, or work to permanently reclaim Stratholme…?
No, too much work, not enough time! What if, in this most dark of days, in this most dire hour, we are forced to reconnect with an old “friend”, and they with us?
