::He would look at Capital City/Undercity.::
No, no, no, no. I cannot say it enough. This isn’t spite. Blizzard is not trying to punish you by making you sit around in a horde city for an expansion. Grow up.
As I’ve said before I truly believe making an alliance capital for Midnight someplace outside of Quel’thalas would be a huge mistake on Blizz’s part, and I don’t think any Alliance player would actually enjoy it in practice. Sure an updated Gilneas or a more functional Stromgarde would be amazing, but making these cities the capital for the Alliance in Midnight would mean remaking their surrounding zones as well.
And I hear you “But that sounds amazing!” but places like Gilneas and the Arathi highlands have nothing to do with Quel’thalas, or the themes of midnight. Just about their only connection to the Blood elves is that they once fought together during the second war. It would be a massive butt pull to bring them into the story of Midnight, and if they didn’t bring them into the story I can’t see these zones getting a full rework, at best it would be half assed and no one would be happy.
What’s more this would put a burden onto Alliance players that Horde players would not have to deal with at all. The Alliance would be completely cut off from the entire expansion. It would be a never ending series of portals and loading screens just going to and from the Alliance capital to the actual expansion’s zones, let alone the dungeons, or the raids. Meanwhile Horde players wouldn’t be dealing with this. They’d be flying in and around Quel’thalas nice and breezy, not a loading screen in site.
Feels more like it’s punishing the Horde by taking one of their cities and turning it full neutral. But that’s ok, right? Because God forbid the Alliance might have to travel a little further than the Horde and that is Horde bias or what? And the Horde is used to being crapped on.
Imagine that, having to dragon fly for an extra 10 seconds.
Or they could do Stratholme, which is literally right next to Quel’thalas, also how are they going to fit 10 levels of content exclusively into Quel’thalas, I’m fine with the xpac relating to elven ideas but smushing in all the content into just Quel’thalas sounds incredibly stupid.
We probably also get new zones as well.
Unfortunately these baby brainlets can’t stop and think about the fact that the expansion that uses Quel’thalas as a setting will take place in Quel’thalas.
Finally get some updates to the old world like people have been asking for and it isn’t good enough because “erm… factions aren’t kill on sight???” like good god people. It’s like nobody wants to like this game and they just seek out any reason to complain.
Outside of Quel’thalas or just brutally retconning it to be bigger for no apparent reason at all? Quel’thalas does not have any inaccessible areas nearby like Uldum or the Twilight Highlands to make this work with, they’d just have to do a really really repulsive retcon. Gilneas or Stromgarde are both very close to Quel’thalas, and Stratholme is literally right there.
There’s literally no reason why we can’t have both of these.
I hope every city eventually becomes non-hostile to either faction. It’s a stupid thing that was only ever a game mechanic anyways. Nobody cares about world pvp in retail anymore, so get rid of it.
They could expand on Quel’thalas, maybe make an entire zone themed around the Amani Trolls? That’d be cool. But no I expect there are zones elsewhere in the world as well. Not like we know. This is literally the expansion after the one that’s coming next. But I doubt we’ll see Gilneas get touched. Maybe Stromgarde? But I doubt it.
You people really need to learn what neutral means. ![]()
To anyone who’s actually played the game, when the guards attack you. ALSO if Silvermoon becomes the neutral city hub of the expac obviously Alliance would be allowed to use vendors so it 100% would be even worse than a Bel’ameth situation, which is also a neutral city.
Where? Unless it’s underground, which I would accept, there’s literally nowhere to put the zone without some seriously grotesque retconning.
I think you should follow your own advice cause what you are asking for, access to the Belf city with all services provided equally to the Alliance literally means turning the city neutral.
If you look at very old maps of Quel’thalas, especially from the WC2 era, the Amani troll held an entire swathe of territory east of Quel’thalas. This was likely cut down due to time restrictions, and the entirety of Amani territory was reduced. That was the retconn. If anything expanding the landmass to include a larger area for Amani trolls would be correcting it.
You’re wrong.
Gossip from the npc Tarenar Sunstrike.
Gidwin and I have been travelling the world since the Legion’s defeat. I was particularly fond of our drinking tour of Horde capitol cities. Did you know there are some lovely new places to get a drink in Suramar? And though our time was cut short by the war, we had a wonderful time in Silvermoon. I think Gidwin rather likes the finery there. Of course, sneaking out of the city was an entirely different adventure. I’ll always enjoy getting into and out of trouble with him.
Gidwin is a Dwarf paladin. Sorry buddy, guess you’re mistaken :((
Those are the guys from that caravan right? They are neutral. They are not Alliance or Horde, they are affiliated with the Argent Dawn. So what the hell you going on about?
They are, but still it’s a Dwarf. Presumably we Alliance representatives are going to be there to help with the ongoing crisis, no? Surely we’d be welcome guest in that instance.
I think it’s very silly to assume that outside of war time your average person from Alliance territory couldn’t go to cities in Horde territory anyway.
Gidwin was part of the Alliance expedition into Draenor during WoD.
Also hinted that he is associated with them considering he needed to be snuck out of Silvermoon once the Fourth War started.
Yeah a singular dwarf, I’m fine with outside of game stories about people travelling to these cities, there’s no need for it to be in game. If I’m supposed to take satisfaction of knowing Bel’ameth isn’t “canonically” actually neutral despite almost entirely functioning the same as every other neutral city then you should be able to take satisfaction with knowing canonically occasional individuals of “Alliance” races are allowed to visit these cities when you cannot in game without being attacked.
There is need for it in-game.
Particularly because there’s no lore reasons or logical reason why you can’t.
It’s stupid.
You’re right. Bel’ameth isn’t neutral. It’s an Alliance city, and Horde races can enter it. You can disagree with that, but you’re wrong.
As for it being in the game, why not? Why restrict players in their range of access? Why split the playerbase into multiple expansion hubs? Nothing there makes sense.
There’s nothing anywhere saying that the factions discriminate on race, but on faction. Even Hellscream hired a human transport ship back in Cataclysm. And you can go to a Horde city as an Alliance, you are just not welcome there.
