Forcing crafting quality with public order

if i post a public order with max level mats, will i definitely get a level 5 craft

No, there currently is no way to guarantee quality on public orders (which is stupid).

i thought not.

recipe is 49k in the ah on my server. as a pvp weapon, maybe not many have it yet

Nope.

My first public orders came back 2 or 3 star with max mats.

If you want 5 star, you need to do personal orders.

You’ll likely get 3 star minimum, but it is a crap shoot depending on who crafts it and where their points are spent.

They really should add a quality limit on public orders now that concentration exists. People can decide if the gold they offered is worth their conc.

It’s actually really tough to do 5-star crafts currently. I’ve got the pvp rings and neck recipe, and I’ve specialized in rings and necks… and I can’t hit 5-star unless I waste a full tank of concentration on a single item, which takes days to regenerate.

If you get 4 stars, you did really well. 3 stars is to be expected from a public crafting order.

That is not quite how concentration works.

the mats for the weapon (algari competitors pillar - poleaxe) cost me 25k gold. if i can’t get 610, it just isnt’ worth it. i can get 606 from a m0 weapon

Have you considered actually… speaking to somebody, to get it crafted?

They need to get rid of quality rolls altogether. It’s not fun or engaging. It ruined self-sufficiency. Not to mention the insane amount of crap you need to farm for a recipe that goes into a recipe that goes into the final recipe. Times 5. God I hate this profession system. Engineering is the only one that I’ve enjoyed, but that’s just because it’s wacky and I can do most of it myself.

Concentration allows someone with sufficient knowledge to guarantee 5 where in DF you often depended on an RNG proc.

It makes perfect sense to add a minimum quality requirement option to public orders now that RNG is not a factor and you can guarantee 5 with concentration + sufficient skill.

sure have. i am spamming in trade chat now.

but it needs to have someone on when i am spamming who can do it.

Only if it’s already flipped over to 4, without. And that depends on a variety of factors.

I don’t know what you’re trying to get at but some people could guarantee 5 on an order and it should be an option to set a limit on public orders so people who can can choose to do so if they see an order with an amount of gold they feel is worth doing.

It’s hilarious how little public crafting orders are used whereas now there is endless spamming of professions in the Trade - Services channel. I remember when you’d occasionally see someone link their professions in trade. Just absurd they added something that should have alleviated the need to advertise at all, but left out the one aspect that would make it useable.
