Pretty sure a bunch of stuff in there just got nerfed in the latest hotfixes too but yea, i can see why people dont like it, its pretty bland tbh. But it is what it is.

protip: don’t get greedy for power when in Torghast.
Choose powerups that help your utility, CCs, and/or health/shield… rather than make the mistake of choosing only powerups that solely offer raw damage increase/output…
If you are unable to steamroll the boss down before your burst expires, then you need to re-strategize and instead redo it with extending out the fight as long as possible in mind.
Also a major tip: Don’t forget that NPC targets can be CC’d for the full duration of each of your CCs. So use this to your advantage! Put the boss in 30 second to 1 minute each CCs, while you use this time to heal up and for your big cooldowns to reset. And each time all your big damage spells are on cooldown and especially your self-healing spells, repeat the process and CC the boss and wait for your cooldowns.
This last tip above may extend the fight to over 10 minutes, but at least you’ll slowly but surely take the boss down.
If I could do it as a Marksman Hunter (we have some of the worse self heals in the entire game with only 1 healing cooldown and no heals off our attacks), then anyone can do it. Personally I just kept ice trapping the boss, allowing my trueshot, double tap, trinkets, and/or exhilaration (heal) cds to reset and kept blowing them up, and repeating the process over and over. Was with the boss so long that I got to double Bloodlust… once on opening and again to nearly finish them off. Worked like a charm.
Torghast is trash. Spent 40 minutes clearing every mob from level two only to get an unkillable boss, Gherus the chained who was so overtuned and ridiculously broken I couldn’t heal fast enough. After the second or third death I just left and 40 minutes wasted. Didn’t even get to try level three like I planned. The entire thing was a waste of time that left a sour taste in my mouth. Thinking of letting my sub run out too at some point and playing something else if this is what I have to look forward to. I can’t even imagine how bad level three would be with the same boss. Doubt I’d be able to get my legendary clearing one level instead of three. Garbage content that I have no interest in anymore. Tried it and I hate it.

Have you tried going in with friends? Maybe gearing up more? Learning to play your class better? There’s a lot you can do to make Torghast a more enjoyable experience.

Not unlikely I used to work as support for korean mmos back in the mid 90s.
I quickly realised that most peoples problem is a disconnect between how the game mode works and how they think it works.
I joined a couple of groups with players who “hit a wall with torghast” and the biggest issues were picking utility choices or 1 use abilities over boss fight abilities and the other issue was blowing all their cc skills while they are at full hp and the boss is doing his lowest damage (and then not having it when they need it).
When a monster has a damage ramping ability you dont use your cc before they have started to ramp up.
