Do we have to re-download and re-install classic? I only have BC on my launcher now 
I mean, if you want to play classic, yes. If you only plan to play TBC, no. Its a small download anyway.
It made me redownload but it took all of 1 minute.

yes for me it took a couple of minutes for the download.
I forgot how small classic was. I had already finished downloading it before this post had a single reply.
The reason it’s a small download is that it shares files. They changed how that worked some time ago. Same with PTR sharing files to the live game, meaning downloading and playing PTR is nothing but a benefit. It doesn’t hog up a ton of space anymore.
If it’s asking you to install classic again but you have it already downloaded then you need to find the classic launcher.exe in you classic folder and use that. Then battle.net app will recognize you already have it installed.
