I’m not too sure why it would be “insane” considering that there’s no way to appeal an account action via the forums.

The CS forum in particular does allow some leeway so that people can be pointed in the right direction regarding appealing, or provided some links to explain why their account might have been actioned.

Beyond that, there’s really no need for people to post their account actions here. Based on what we’ve seen over the years, players tend to jump to conclusions regarding ‘what’ they think they were actioned for, lie about the account action or leave out crucial details.

That said, there are certainly the extremely rare outliers where there was a mistake made, but those are rare thankfully and still only get cleared up by the player submitting an appeal via the ticket system, not by posting here.

Every thread in General, pick a game type, that discusses or is about account actions devolves with zero discussion going on and further obfuscates any real issues and promotes trolling.

Even some CS posts where its generally okay to ask about account actions devolves. It’s a subject best contained to the ticket system as that is the best way to work with account actions/appeals.

This is exactly why a lot of other forums and even discord servers have rules in place like this – it also helps prevent potential witch hunting.

This is so the sentence they constructed makes sense. There’s no hidden meaning that if only one person reports, they won’t do anything. One report is all that it takes for a social infraction to be actioned

As this very thread shows, not only do they enforce the Naming Policy, but players don’t learn their lesson and rename their characters the same thing over and over again. The OP here did choose a different name, but not right away, and Orlyia had to give them a second rename.

As both of these are going to receive a similar response, I’ll just respond to them, in one.

What I’ve seen has been years of reporting, and nothing gets changed. To the point I fear I’ll get actioned for “false eeporting”. What I mean ('cause it’s in the rules) is reporting someone with the intention they get actioned. Or, “harassment” by reporting the same people, over and over, again (and, harassment is against the rules, too).

Again, these individuals have names synonymous to the OP, despite my yearly reports.

First off, a company in general has no “mood”. There’s no singular “Blizzard”, in terms of individual moods.

Second off, the “mood” of a GM is irrelevant. A violation is a violation, and for the most part, social infractions are pretty cut and dry. Did you use an obscenity or toxicity, yes or no? If yes, it’s an account action. This whole “I need to GM shop to get one in a good mood” is a fantasy invented by players trying to end around the rules.

Without going into too much detail, yes, the mood of the company (or GM, if you prefer) matters, as they are still human and make mistakes.

Actually, RP servers are one place where they might give some leeway. Occasionally (exception, not the rule), they may encounter a borderline name on an RP realm, and will hold off until they see if it’s a deeper disruption or not.

Reporting does work name wise seen it proven time and time again. But heres the kicker player a disagrees uses the same name sooner or later bad choices catch up to them and boom suspensions and a name change of blizzards choice that cant be changed ever.
