Forced Expansion Features make Expansions worse

Torghast was a good idea, if it was optional. IE: Palace of the Dead and Heaven on High are optional, more developed, better versions of Torghast. When Blizzard made it required for crafting and upgrading legos, they ruined it.

Island Expeditions were a good idea, if it was optional. With more development, islands could have become WoW’s version of Path of Exile’s atlas. When Blizzard made neck leveling required to use Azerite armor, they ruined it.

Covenants were a good idea, if it was cosmetic. Blizzard ruined it when they locked dps cooldowns, utility cooldowns, passive talent trees, and % hp stat boosts behind it.

Warfronts could have been a good idea, if they were player vs player where player’s boosted their base’s troop generation and armor etc by gathering materials etc. But Blizzard ruined it by having it be AFK and you still win content.

Azerite armor has no redeeming qualities, so I can’t even say that Blizzard ruined it because it was ruined from conception. Same with domination gems and corruption. Essences were a bad idea that was well developed, probably by sheer luck. Getting revered on alts to get the mana essence before the nerf to the rep req was awful. Ruined the entire patch.

People don’t typically do optional content, even if they like it.

Id be interested to see that actual stats on the Mage Tower on what % of players actually partook in it.

Netherwing, Orgilla, skyguard, sporegarr, all optional, did them all. Furthermore, having things you haven’t done but could do gives a sense of horizon to a game. Not every player should/has to do everything. Trying to make them do things they don’t want to do is going to build resentment.

The current design is basically the lazy river. You get into a boat and the float down the path laid out to you by the devs, seeing all the content and being forced to do the most boring parts.

I’m done with it since nothing seems to get through and Blizzard will even break their promise not to add more systems to shadowlands made back at blizzcon 2019.

Just, no more.
I want off Bobby Koticks “wild” ride.

Got a source for that?

Are you trolling? We watched it live. Go back to the blizzcon 2019 clips.

So then finding a clip for you to back up your claim should be no problem.

You should be able to access the videos of 2019 if you had a digital pass via Blizzcon iirc. I’m not going to take time out of my day to find a clip for you? Unless you are going to like… venmo me money to do it for you?

Typical. Make a claim, then when simply asked to back up said claim, you whine about it.

So im gonna go ahead and say you just straight up lied about what blizz said.

Okay, so you are just trolling.

Everyone who watched Blizzcon 2019’s shadowlands reveal knows about this.

Preach even explicitly references it about 3 times in his explanation as to why he is no longer doing WoW content. IE https://youtu.be/eZ6w--GhpaM?t=575

I watched it. Dont remember anything remotely close to this being said, hence why i asked for a specific source. Everything at Blizzcon will have youtube clips. I didnt ask for Preach.

Keep refusing to defend your position though. Definitely makes you look right.

Citation needed.

Ugh, Dungeons from Classic until Mythic+? How many people are still running Castle Nathria?

All of his citations are made up in his head…

We used to all the time. Now it’s completely irrelevant specifically due to mythic plus.

A ton, for the cosmetics. If you’re asking about the progression crowd though, obviously they’ve moved on.

But I asked for a citation, not a half-baked opinion and anecdotal evidence.

Unless you were helping a friend farm a piece, no you didnt. Once you got what you needed out of a dungeon, you stopped running it. I can almost guarantee you didn’t run it “for fun”.

If Blizzards metrics showed active engagement in optional content, dont you think they would offer it? Hmmm?

If it offers a mount, people will do it.

Doesn’t even need to be a mount. Slap a cute pet in there or a really good tmog and people will flock to it faster than you would believe possible.

My man, I don’t know what you and your guild do, but you can’t speak for my gameplay, my friends’, or my guild’s.

The thought that different people have different gameplay styles and enjoy different aspects of the game has never once occurred to you, has it?

Suddenly you’re psychic. Alrighty.

No, why would they? They don’t offer a good portion of their metrics. Say, subscriber count, for example. Let alone numerics of their systems.

You’re out of your element, Donnie.

Really? You are that ignorant?

“Hey, 80% of the playerbase is doing this thing just for fun. Should we keep adding things like that to keep them subscribed?”

“No, better not. We want those sub numbers to go down!”

Looks like you got it all figured out. Sure thing, slugger.
