For your very first character

What made you pick that class and race?

I always wanted to try a Ranger and Necro in EverQuest but since leveling was a nightmare in that game, I never did.

So I made a Warlock and Hunter as my very first toons. Don’t have the Warlock anymore but still have the Hunter.

Hmm… first on official servers was a human paladin. I liked the armor, but that character didn’t get past level 10. First “main” that I got to max level was a mage. I dislike melee combat, liked not having to buy water/food, and liked being able teleport / portal.

Was a dwarf hunter, then I ran into Angwe. Moved to a different server (PvE) after that.

Warrior sounded cool

Human cuz boring and buddy played alliance

Alas poor Smithery, you were too beautiful for this world

Troll shaman. Trolls are cool and I’ve always gravitated to hybrid classes. Still play him regularly.

Human priest. My first MMO was ragnarok online and I played one there so it was a natural move. But it was on a trial account so I lost him and decided to just make Zerde.

My first character was a Gnome Warlock - I still have him and he’s 60 on my old server (though I don’t play him much).

Undead Warlock! I was a youngin’ fascinated with the starting zones, I made a character on just about every race/class but Tirisfal Glades spoke the most to me at the time, I was very much in to the doom and gloom feel of it all. Warlock just because it felt like it fit the theme the most. (and the spells were the most visually appealing to me, along with the little minions I got.) She lasted me to level 60 where I tossed her aside for a Goblin Death Knight during the MoP expansion.

I played human priest and it was because in iRO I was a priest (and obviously human). I remember the first time I learned what aggro was… I thought it was the dumbest thing around lol.

My friend showing me the game was on Horde, and I thought the tauren looked funny, so I rolled one.

…I genuinely have no idea why I made her a shaman.

This is my first character. I didn’t know anything above the game and to this day I have no idea what’s going on in wow.

William Shatner

This is my first character posting.

Why I feel they should go back to celeb ads, worked on me.

Troll rogue
was like 9 or 10 in vanilla wow and i liked being sneeky

Tauren Druid, because I thought playing a cow and being able to play as kitty would be fun. I still love to /moo even if I don’t play her as much as I use to.

I was 16, I created a human paladin because

Human = self insert
Paladin = Warriors but with magic in the absence of a battlemage.

Nowadays that Paladin is a blood elf that I always come back to for some weird reason. I don’t even enjoy the Paladin’s gameplay but it’s hard to give up on this char.

Gimli was my favorite character from the LOTR films, and I had an abiding passion for the archetypal holy knight that Paladin filled.
Never got him passed lvl 8, and lost the account well over a decade ago.

Male Nelf hunter. There, I said it, and I’m glad that I did. At the time I thought a ranged class would be a safe bet, but I didn’t want to play a spellcaster.

My second character was a male Orc shaman. It took a lot of desert sand and a little bit of sapta to get the taste of Teldrassil out of my mouth.

Always liked fantasy warriors. Been into zombies since early 80s.
I saw Undead and knew I was home so made Undead Prot warrior.

I enjoyed the Forsaken lore in Warcraft 3. As a result, my very first character was a Forsaken Warlock on a PvP server. I equipped the common quality (white) colored gear because it had more armor, I had no gold, did not know how to use the talent trees because I had points spread out in each tree and thought I was invincible with Skinning and Leatherworking. I was wrong.
