What website or websites do you use to find out BG information? Like strategies, map knowledge, ideal roles for each spec in each BG. I have looked into Icy and use Murlok, but i would like a more in depth guide onto a specs skills and when to use them.
What you are requesting would require a novel or a multipart series of rather lengthy videos. You could probably get some answers here, but you would have to narrow down the scope and be more specific. Like, what spec, which map? What are you wanting to do?
i just checked out your channel, i really like your videos. Ill try to learn as much as i can from those, what i am really looking for is a website that has strategies like who should carry orbs in Temple and whats the ideal opening for that map? Rush to control mid or kite around the middle. Its more map strategy.
Thanks. I’m a bit too lazy to do guides, so just go over things as they come up in normal gameplay.
Most guides you find online are going to be for rated BGs, which have entirely different strategies than random BGs or BG Blitz because of voice communication and people coming in ahead of time knowing what their job is going to be.
For example, in a rated BG TOK, the team will start by staying on the outside and rotating around the pit until control is established. But, no way you get people you don’t know and can’t easily communicate with to do that in random BGs or Blitz, so typically there people get orbs and fight for control of the pit immediately.
Also, rated BG teams are going to have specific people they bring in that are expected to sit a base or pick up an orb, etc. But, in a random BG you can’t trust anyone to do those things so if you are wanting to win you often have to do it yourself.
Here is a guide that has a lot of useful information in it. At the bottom of the page there are strategy guides for each of the BGs. But, again… keep in mind that it is a rated BG guide so some of it won’t apply to random BGs.
nothing to it but to do it.
Is there a spec you’re more interested in info for?
It all comes down to experience, there are the generally known basic strategies that others will build upon. The best way to learn is to get in there and pay attention to what your team mates are doing.
And maybe read chat, that guy that sounds desperate to get you to go somewhere might have a good tip or two.
I think stuff like this changes with the meta.
Ex. In WOD (iirc), Rogues were considered better FCs than Tanks because Feint actively mitigated a lot of damage
For current meta, I would suggest RDPS hold orbs if you have no tanks. RDPS get the benefit of doing their full damage rotation while not putting the orb in harms way. MDPS like Warriors normally make bad FCs because they are more prone to needing to overextend to do damage.
Additionally, in Kotmogu I suggest nobody grab orbs at start and just try to wipe the enemy team. Only start grabbing once you’ve won the team fight. Otherwise you’re just making 2 members of your team very easy targets to blow up, and now you have a numbers disadvantage for the first 30 seconds of the BG. (Ofc, this strategy would change if we were in a very slow meta and Orb-holders weren’t at risk of getting deleted in 0.5 seconds.)
It was mainly because of Burst of Speed which basically gave them perma 70% sprint.
Hello Wrathshidden,
Just get in there and pew pew. You try and plan out what ‘should’ happen in a game of 10, 15, 20 or 40 randoms, well let me tell ya…
Get in there, see what ya see, and you’ll get the hang of it in no time.
This isn’t rocket science. It’s random people of all skill levels and motivatuion playing a 20 years old mmo (that has the best mmo pvp still!) doing battle grounds that have been played a million million times. You will have the best of battles and the worst of battles…Q music for a long strange journey…whatever music that would be.
Id just ask high rated rbg’ers for strat, they have them its not anywhere online youre going to find
Communities and playing with good players
I would just make sure you get the advice from the right people.
very accurate
Tidepodzxo ain’t wrong. They tend to play with a group of other players if I understand. This means higher win rates I am certain and probably a lot of fun when in comms.
My comments are from the solo Q perspective, which is and has been fun for me for a long long time. But, yer gonna have to learn to take a loss and keep going.
I solo Q’d into an epic (as I write this), an IoC with an Alliance premade. Were gonna win…it’s kinda boring, really (we hold all the spots, it is yawn). But hey, it is what it is. You can choose how ya wanna play!
