For those thinking you’ll hit 60 in 2 days

The world record for Vanilla speed leveling is 4 days 20 hours /played. It is held by Joana. He did it using a hunter (by far the fastest leveling class).

No, private server times do not count as the experience needed across levels is not accurate, nor is the experience rewards on some mobs/quests.

So, unless you play without sleep, you’re not likely going to hit 60 in the first week. Also keep in mind, he did the speed level by developing a plan, best routes, which quests to take or pass, which ones can be done together, optimizing travel vs turn in.

It is mathematically impossible to hit 60 in 4 days or less, even without sleeping, without using the bathroom, and without eating or drinking anything.

Keep in mind that ALL speed levelers who make that /played time rely heavily on rested exp while offline. So it would take even longer if you just stayed online the entire game. My guess would be by several hours.

The reason I’m posting this is because I want to laugh hysterically every time someone says, “Molten core will be cleared week 1” or even week 2.

Let’s assume you can do MC with 36 level 58 characters. Do you honestly believe that anyone will have 36 players get to 58-60 in that amount of time, while geared enough to do the encounters, plus farm the water rep, plus FR gear for Rag (which IS needed, I don’t care what private servers did, they aren’t correctly tuned).

So here’s my thought. Sure, you can play for a week straight, living on energy drink, light snacks, peeing in a bottle, and hit 60 with liver and kidney damage. People have died doing it. Oh, and you could expect 36-40 people to do this with you (hahaha).

We could be realistic, and know that it’ll take even dedicated players over 5 days /played to hit 60. So if someone puts in a solid 24 hours, they’re only 1/5 or 1/7 of the way depending on how optimal their plan is.

Based on this information, I’m predicting server first levels 60’s hitting at about 6-7 days (These are the try hards who will barely sleep and likely won’t shower -ewww) That average player who puts in 5 hours a night everyday will be at 6 days /played with a slightly below optimal plan. That’s 28.8 days to reach 60.

I do think the sentiment is correct, even if the math is not. A ton of people from or not from private servers will have this down to a relatively accurate art. There will be no lifers. There may even just be some really smart kids who are still in school who already play WoW ten hours a day. We’re in the information era where we all know far too much and have guides or resources for EVERYTHING.

I really want people to just play the game and enjoy it but that’ll be the minority and there will be a fair amount of people doing the speedrun and in one week we’ll have some 60s and in two weeks we’ll have a lot of 60s ~

At 2 weeks I think you could have a nice group of 60s depending on if school is in or out.

I think it’ll be less than 1% though, and they won’t have cleared anything.

I dont think those ppl know simple math…

OP, you seem to have a lot of animosity toward those planning to speed level. Did one of these people do something to you at one point? Otherwise, I don’t see why you’d care so much about how someone else wants to play a video game?

Btw, I’m the polar opposite of a speed-leveller when it comes to WoW, so your answer doesn’t really affect me, I was just curious because you seem a little angry.

True.

My professional recommendation: don’t play more than 8 hours a day. It’s just unhealthy. And get up and move around at least once an hour.

But I have to wonder… Who ever said they were going to hit 60 in 2 days? That sounds like something nobody ever said.

Someone will be 60 in a week. No one has ever claimed 2 days.

I hold no animosity toward anyone. I’m retired military, I have more time than most people. I am simply putting the basic math out there. I’m a realist, and I don’t want people with unrealistic expectations to get bent out of shape and quit. We need a population. The more realistic people are about their time allowNce and what they can or cannot achieve, the less individuals we will have who get discouraged just because it’s not a 2 days grind. I want people to be real with themselves, and stick around!

Also, remembering that speed runs are often done with pre-made consumables, crafted gear waiting to be equipped, and a perfect map of what is to be done.

Also, the 5 days is 5 days /played. If you expect to sleep, you won’t be done before first reset.

The 2 days was a setup topic (slight exaggeration) because people claim MC will be cleared first week, which is really impossible based on the logistics. It wasn’t meant to be taken literally.

Well the guild I am in is waiting for the release date and some of them are taking 2 weeks off of work to hit lvl 60 asap. Hardest part for me will be getting the gold to buy my pre bis gear and getting trueshot shoulders lol.

I look forward to how people will react when Ragnaros dies on the 7th day.

If you’re that far ahead, I wouldn’t plan on being able to buy anything for a while.

What’s the rush? Classic’s not going anywhere. Thankfully.

I’m gonna take it nice and slow, smelling the roses as I go. Probably between 2-4 characters with a bank alt on each faction.

Some of the hardcore guilds most likely will clear MC start of the 2nd week depends on what day it starts.

Thats good you should really. make friends and have fun. But some people like me enjoy the race first. and also if you are first you can farm alot easyer before the zerg catches up and you have to worry about being ganked camped or taking your farm.
