I prefer 3s, but LFG is so godawful to use and find people of similar skill/XP to get GOOD sessions in with.
RBGs are a toxic cesspool.
If RSS was removed I would lose motivation to play and it would just make me sit in LFG for 3s again and struggle to play the game when I want to play it.
What I like about RSS is the fact I can just hop on the game at 1pm on a weekday (I have 18 days off a month, so I generally have time other than just evenings with the degen bros) and play whenever I want to and still get some games in, get rewards and get experience.
Came back to wow towards the end of shadowlands, checked LFG and it seemed kinda sweaty so I stuck to casual pve content.
Solo shuffle eased me back into pvp, without it, I prob wouldn’t have ever touched rated pvp content again.
3s is too much of a grind, already got glad twice so there’s no point in pushing anymore. Don’t really even pvp much either these days only resubbed for plunderstorm
I used to only really do 2s with a priest friend with the goal of hitting Duelist in the season, random bgs, or low rated 3s with rl friends. I also used to only play my Druid, and occasionally a Rogue alt.
When RSS dropped I found myself playing a lot more classes and alt specs, and cared more about pushing rating in that bracket and trying to improve. Starting to see and compete with the big names and rank 1s in my lobbies was really fun too and made me more interested in streams, community, and the game in general.
If RSS were removed at this point, I’d probably play far less and more casually. And probably quit altogether if friends quit.
I did any form of rated, mostly via LFG. It was very inconvenient, as well as generally toxic. I made some friends, but like me, they were on and off the game and we never really connected after the particular season I met them in.
I also do PvE content. Still do, actually. That is usually with family and very casual… So no issues there.
I don’t think I’d go back to LFG. I’d probably just do blitz for the convenience of que’n whenever I want. Maybe I’d focus more on PvE as well… I’ve never been too into PvE, so it might be a good opportunity to shoot for the 2800 mount next season.
I play shuffle only pretty much now a days. I don’t have a team to queue with in 3’s and sometimes I will do 2’s with friends. Every time I try and LFG 3’s its a disaster and its up being a frustrating waste of time most leave after 1 loss. If it goes good well I try and get B’tags but it never really turns into anything and no one ever wants to get into discord. If shuffle was removed I would probably hope to find a few people to queue steady with the entire season and avoid LFG. it just never works out
I played Random BGs and Rated BGs when I had a guild that was running them.
Unfortunately, I never could put together a team to do 2s or 3s and admittedly, none of my friend group was good enough to competently compete in 3s against groups that had been doing it for 10+ years. RSS is a godsend and Blitz is pretty good too.
Interesting answers, more varied than I would have expected. I’ll answer my own thread.
I used to do 2s mostly before. Dabbled in RSS to about 1800 with most classes before this season (I did get elite as Rdruid in RSS dragonflight s4). This is the first season I’ve done very little 2s and mostly RSS.
I would still do 2s, but I’ve found the deflation in that bracket very discouraging. If RSS was removed, I suppose I would try 3s, but like others have said, I found the experience in LFG 3s rather frustrating. It was often the same…team forms, 1-2 losses, someone leaves. Even if we we’re doing good, it always seemed like someone had to go within 4-5 games.
I’ll take the ques. Beats getting big timed by random dweebs in LFG who may, or may not have achvs themselves who are LF meta comps only and rage quit in under 5 games while blaming everyone but themselves.
Used to mainly 3v3 with some irl friends, 2v2 if one was offline, RBG for some fun outside of arena and random BGs if we just wanted to blow of some steam and have some laid back fun.
6,579 arena’s won mostly 2v2 double dps …some 3v3 and even a little 5v5
i used to run pug RBG’s out of stormwind …just by shouting for players in trade chat…i have 456 RBG’s Won…
ive never been above 2K rating …but back then there were no 3k players …2200 meant you were pretty good and 1850 got you the ever important gear upgrade…
Oh ya i competed on the 2009 (i think that was the year) 3v3 arena server tournament…where i made the cut and received the vanquisher title …
all this pvp play was during the peak years of participation for wow …so when i say i was a 1900 player …it was against thousands of competitors not against the hundreds that play now …i gota say PVP in wow is in a sad state …knock me all ya want for being mediocre …but i have plenty of games played and have a winning record ,but by all means be proud of your 100 games played and your 3k rating that ya got playing the same 10-20 people over and over again …just saying …but you play whats there …so thats my answer…ill play what ever the game gives me to play hoping that Blue stops being woke…scraps it BS match making algorithm and get rid of mmv …your rating should be your rating …it goes up with a win goes down with a loss and lets the player determine where he should be…if you want 2400+ your going to have to play and win alot of matches …as it should be…not “ooo loook at me ive played 70 games and im 3k elite …” you might be or ya might not be…is it really experienced? someone said they had 7k matches played …i know that person has plenty played this season as well …got more respect for the amount games hes played than his top shaman rating (i like him even if he argues just to argue)… i know ever since the October patch …the que times and the match makeup has been horrible …what ever they did should be rolled back at the very least…ill say it again striving to have everyone at 50% win rate …putting everyone where “they should be” defeats the whole idea of competition…i dont need or want to be protected against being rolled by elite competition …when i was running pug rbgs it happened all the time …wede lose 10-12 rating and they would win 2 rating …but they would almost always win …but every once in awhile we would pull off an upset …thats competition BLUE LET US COMPETE >>>>>PLEASE
Shuffle should be removed, its creating a plethora of new problems (lol healers outside of dampening, double ps, loh in arena, etc) and they should have tried updating lfg instead.
I mostly fooled around in 2s as ret/spriest but that can’t work well (most double dps) thx to lol shuffle changes.
Sometimes did rbgs but those folks barely log in anymore.
Last time I tried some 3s was Bfa since most of my btag went grey.
If shuffle was removed I’d probably be happy lol, too many problems created by this game mode and now it has a viable replacement in the form of Blitz.
Blitz is healthier for the game (mmr is too inflated but that can be fixed), blitz doesn’t force blizavision into weird class changes. I’d go back to fooling around in 2s as double dps, continue to try blitz from time to time, and will do bgs as I always have, even if healer “god mode” is sucking them fun out of it. Right, I don’t really do shuffle just in the first week and about 7 games this month lol.
