Seriously, the lack of Flight Master’s Whistle is glaring in this expansion.
Even if it’s not until 9.1, PLEASE re-add the FMW to the game. Even when we have flight, there’s uses for it. Especially when we’ll have to take a flight path to go between the 4 zones.
Why? No one is gonna be playing in 9.1
Yeah, I’m still buggered that they didn’t give us the whistle in SL. 5 months in and I have realized why - the devs (read:ION) want this to be the most grindy and tedious iteration of the game since vanilla.

It frustrates the hell out of me that these types of things (including flight) are held back and only really given back after a couple of patches of subscription hemorrhaging, if they’d just leave the quality of life stuff in at the start of the expansion, 80% of us wouldn’t quit in the first place???
Yeah, i wouldn’t mind that we don’t have one if blizzard kept their promise of having flight early in this xpack.

Why would you do that when it could have been used as a hearthstone?
How many more hearthstones would I need?
Garrison you gotta port to ashran first before you can get to org. Or is there a portal I missed?
But I had fun in vanilla.
Now I log in, try to find my way to a world quest that’s usually blocked by annoying terrain or on top of a mountain that only has one road leading up to it, finishing the quest and hearthing back only to take a flight path to the next closest world quest after logging out for 10 minutes. Rinse and repeat one or two more times.
I dunno, maybe that’s how they want us to play now.

Yes please, I want my whistle back whether we have character flight or not.
When we need flight paths to travel between zones in Shadowlands, having an insta teleport to flight paths when you’re far away due to how far away WQs are would be handy.
That’s a good reason.
Also it serves as a fast travel to the nearest vendor when your bags full if you don’t have the repair mount.
Also would help in those new areas where we still won’t be able to fly right away.
Its an equation of how grindy they can make things to keep you subbed longer vs how many subs they lose because its too grindy.
100 subs grinding for 2 months is as much money as 200 subs grinding for 1 month. 100 subs take less server space and complain a lot less than 200 people as well. So if Blizz loses 25 players because its too grindy, they are still ahead because the people who are left are playing for twice as long to get to ultimately the same place. And Blizz didnt have to release as many content patches or come up with as many unique ideas for the expansion either. They just had to up the “grind” quotient and slap some new paint on old systems. Voila - Shadowlands.
It matters when 9.1 is still 4-5 months away. You act like the patch is dropping next week.
