For the first time - i seriously dont think classic will make it

No offense, but some people really don’t care about AV and I’m one of them. I couldn’t care less if you got the “ideal version of AV” or not.

Go play something else if this is literally that devastating for you.

It isn’t just about this version of AV sucking, it is that you have to solo que it and it is the best honor per hour by a mile, every ranker is forced to solo que into an AV where they can only have a minimal impact, I can only gain around 10% more honor per hour vs bots and afkers. I’d much rather be doing premade wsg or AB to compete for standings.

Then why are you posting in this thread?

In any event, OP, anyone could have seen this coming. Many of us called it the moment Blizzard announced this neutered version of AV. The sad truth is whoever is making these decisions at Blizzard doesn’t know how to run an mmorpg. Doesn’t understand human nature. They’ve learned nothing after 15 years. They make the same mistakes again that were made the first time around. But it is what it is. It’s their game to screw up, and they have done so…for the second time.

Me, I’m not concerned with the standings much. I bg because I like to. I’m ok for now with the gameplay, because I kinda want to get teh rep and gear out of the way. I’m curious to see what rank I end up at, but I’m not putting any actual work into it, I’m just playing.

I’m old enough I can deal with only truly having fun (a long fight) in a fraction of matches.

Because almost every thread is crying about AV, and it’s getting old.

Whine, whine, whine, that’s all anyone ever does on this forum.

If you guys are this miserable. Go play something else. Nothing is keeping you here.

I play because I’m having fun, and if I wasn’t I would unsub and go play something else. I wouldn’t hop on the forums and make the same post 10 other people have made already to cry about it.

You link the same guy twice, with a retail icon, who clearly didn’t play the old versions of AV “Believe it or not, some people don’t actually want to spend multiple hours in one BG fighting nothing but overtuned NPCs.” not even close to how it was, it was mostly 30 on 30+ fighting on the front lines, casuals got their rep either way, and the honor sucked so people who wanted honor went to wsg or AB, it was a more laid back and fun version with none stop pvp instead of rushing undertuned npcs for the best honor/rep per hour

Ever worked as a designer on an actual released game? I have (tabletop miniatures, but in this case, it’s relevant).

From a designer point of view - players never play the way you expect, when confronted by am event, they will do things you thought you had blocked. And, gamers take it as a challenge to break any rules or mechanics system, it’s what minmaxing leads to.

and right now, we have a player base that likely has years of experience in AV, all it’s versions. We know exactly how to play AV, including forcing turtles or running zerg races. It doesn’t matter what version they chose, we’d break it.

If anyone thought wow classic was going to maintain a huge player base…KEK.

Make it where?

Classic is all ready a success.

Tons of people will come back for Cthun and Kelthuzad. That’s what classic is about essentially. Most people want a shot at bosses they never got to do. IF you came for other reasons you were delusional to begin with.

how are you able to que up with friends? literally every time ive tried we get seperate bgs.

Unfortunately im having difficulty convincing people that actually playing the game gives just as much if not more honor than zerging to the end of the battle.

pretty sure it’s for rep not honor.

At the end of the day: this. Vote with your dollars.

I’m glad Allies are facerolling AV now rather than aimlessly wandering around Winterspring killing 1 person per 10 minutes as a raid.

The open world is so peaceful now. I’ve seen 50’s come back out to level and non hostile alliance who knew we wouldn’t hurt each other, it’s like we’re connecting spiritually.
Pick herbs in peace, finally.

The icon proves nothing. If you look at his legacy achievements, you see that he’s been PvPing at least since BC, given the Grunt title he got on 10/16/2008:

Since there were no achievements in Vanilla I can’t say with 100% certainty that he played Vanilla, but I don’t see why he would lie about it. Also, you don’t need to have played Vanilla to know that people don’t want to spend multiple hours in one BG. Honestly, the version of AV you’re begging for right now sounds terrible to me.

I don’t agree. I’d say 1.5-.17 can’t be zerged. It’s so radically different from what we have. Players are zerging now because 1.12 AV is the easiest zerged version in the history of the bg. This is playing out exactly how many of us said it would. At least 1.5-1.7 would offer a radically different experience than what we’re getting. Which is the same AV players have been doing for over a decade. One of the tenets of Classic should have been offering something different.

So to answer your earlier question…apparently it doesn’t take a designer to understand how players are going to react in the game. This should have been a surprise to no one. We have 15 years of hindsight telling us what players would do, and they did what we said they would. The designers either are inept or simply don’t care.

Didn’t blizz release an early version of AV in retail recently for that event? Iirc the retail player base was able to zerg it

Actually you can, those ranks were removed with the change to the honor system in the TBC prepatch so to have them means you played in vanilla.

If you dont have them, then either you are on a different account(they are account wide) or you never did a single BG in vanilla.

That BG has the linked pulls and the stacking buff for marshalls and general. Which were added during TBC.

Sorry if I’m misunderstanding, but wouldn’t those additions make it harder?

Sonic mania is good dude.
