can we have some actual punishment for people who leave and ruin keys, runs, forcing other people to waste their time and effort
and how do you plan on knowing if they left because of real life issues? I can tell you for me family comes before video games, no matter what i am doing in game if there is a family issue I need to take care it comes first.
Hmm what a new and original topic
so you want majority to suffer to protect minority?
many games where you disconnect, gives you a warning or penalty. obviously the reasons may vary but they still keep those policy for reasons
letting go of everyone’s behaviors of leaving group doesn’t sound like a good solution if you ask me
You realize that if you force people to stay in a group they don’t want to be in it’s not going to magically make the group successful… right?
then play with your guild or friends and don’t ask pugs to your groups simple problem solved.
If people are leaving your keys constantly, do a better job of screening people to make sure they’re capable of actually completing content (e.g. RaiderIO or the armory) before blindly inviting based on ilvl.
The group leader is responsible for putting together a decent group. A failure to do your job does not mean Blizzard needs to intervene.
3 hour Deserter Debuff = cannot join any dungeons for 3 hours, how about that? Cannot be deleted and logging out doesn’t shorten either, has to stay ingame for 3 hours for the debuff to wear off.
2nd time on the week = 5 hour deserter debuff
3rd time = 10 hour deserter debuff
4th time = no dungeon for that week
thats rough
how does that solve the problem? thats not solving anything, thats just brushing it aside, the problem still exists, it doesnt go anywhere, how does that improve anything for the game?
Ok so I don’t leave the group but I just refuse to help with the dungeon.
Holding people hostage in a group they don’t want to be in won’t ever work.
I guess it’s not as simple as it should be.
What can we do?
what is this “screening” thing that just prevents such thing to happen? what is this magic
did i also tell you 4 out of 5 people in the group aren’t a leader of a group
this is not an issue if you play with friends or your guild. If you run a M+ and the group works good together ask them if you can friend them for future runs.
Try to make friends or join guilds or communities that can hold people accountable.
My solution is to give every key 2 attempts before it goes down a level. That way if someone has to leave the key isn’t ruined, also if someone disconnects on a high key or you have some bad luck you can try it one more time before it downgrades.
look, you are giving me a specific situation of where the problem doesnt occur and saying “see, no problem” what does this actually do to provide an actual solution to this problem which still occurs to people?
i mean i could also give you an example of a specific situation of how this problem would likely to occur then say “see, heres a problem” this method doesnt go anywhere
It’s called take two seconds to look people up before inviting them to your group. If their RaiderIO is private or full of low, untimed keys, or if they don’t have any M+ history on their armory, that’s a red flag and you probably shouldn’t invite them if you want to actually complete the dungeon.
Yes, but only one out of those five people can invite someone to join the group and, as such, they’re responsible for who joins. If you just blindly invite players based on ilvl, then you have nobody to blame but yourself if the group falls apart.
A failure to plan on your part does not constitute an emergency on Blizzard’s part. Form better groups. The tools are out there and are publicly available, even through the armory. Not using them is an issue pug leaders need to fix themselves.
how are the other people responsible for group leader’s actions? what did they do to deserve it, just for joining a party that the person is in and got unlucky? also, this “screening” you speak of does not prevent anything. almost all mythic+ group leaders use them and they still happen very often. tell me why an implement of a punishment is specifically unnecessary and how this “screening” is to the point of perfection that it can just straight up change people’s personalities or allow people to predict futures? these are merely something that can, sure, help, but how does it justify enough to put the blame on the rest of the group who would be the victims rather than the actual person, you know, who leaves??
Okay I’ll bite. Show me the data. Show me hard numbers that show just how “often” this happens.
Punishing players that were invited to the group by the group leader is not right. The group leader needs to be more selective in who gets invited to make sure the run goes smoothly and can be completed in a timely manner. The failure of the group falls on the leader not doing their part in putting the group together.
