For Ele, volcanic surge should be a pve talent

I’ve been playing a lot of pvp lately with my ele and decided to use control the lava pvp talent. This makes it so lava burst hits for 45% more damage. Along with this, lightning bolt and chain lightning does 30% more dmg and when you get a lava proc from flame shock, it reduces the cast time of lightning bolt by 25/50%. On top of this, the flame shock procs happen 100% more often.

When hitting the target dummy just doing my rotation, the rotation feels so much better since you have a reason to cast lightning bolt for reasons other than maelstrom generation. Yes, you lose out on lava surge resets and instant cast lava bursts, but you get a lot of fast casting lightning bolt/chain lightnings.

It’s easy to test, just go to orgrimmar/stormwind and go into warmode and choose the talent and go to the target dummy to test it. The spec feels a better to play and is vastly more fun. It would be great if they gave elemental shaman a choice in how the spec plays by making it a pve talent.

I switched to this talent this week for PVP and you are right it feels much better to weave in different spells. And if I get locked out of a spell I have something else to cast that is worth while.

I play with this talent in PvP. It would need to be changed or tuned, but yes this should be a PvE talent as it creates a very fun gameplay alternative.
