Would magnets affect Mechagnomes is any negative/comedic way?
I mean it could make them stick
Possibly mess up their robotic sight and hearing as well, but I assume they still have organic brains maybe

Magnets cause mechagnomes to lower their inhibition and have them start singing old show tunes, or folk songs.

Mechagnomes are probably not made of iron, cobalt or nickel, which means they are probably not ferromagnetic.
If they are made of stuff like copper, gold, titanium or aluminum, for example, a magnet would not be able to attract them.
Which is not to say a magnet couldn’t be used to any effect. For instance, a changing magnetic field could bring about the induction of an electric current. But then again these guys run on electricity, so they probably have protection against electric currents.

I don’t know, hence the word “probably” lol
But WoW is a fantasy game, so they are more likely to use fancy materials than mundane ones.
So probably titanium.

Load a bunch of magnets into a sock and start swinging. It’ll have an effect, ferromagnetic or not.

In the encounter I remember from the time rifts, King Mechagon had a magnetic contraption that could attract everything, iron or not.
You’re swinging it wrong. It has to be in an arc, not a circle.

Probably off topic - but this is where my thoughts went with this discussion → Imagine if - in the new undermine raid - there’s some crane game mechanic where you have to be picked up by a magnetic crane to complete some boss’ mechanic.
But only Plate wearers or mechagnomes could do the crane mechanic since they’re magnetic (plate friends have a bunch of metals and mechagnomes are ofc mechagnomes).
Maybe miners could also do it too cause they have a bit of ore on it.
Anywho - before mechagnomes become magentic or not - hopefully they get full tmog options first.
They could be, those are all minerals present in Azeroth. Outside of maybe nickel.
We must fund the research for this very important question!
They would all start singing folk music a la Bender from Futurama
