For a spec called survival it sure seems to lack in the surviving department

Can this spec please get some sustain, where are the survival tools for the survival spec. Feel like at the very least mending bandage should be baseline.

Also, how many more MM reworks before survival can dual wield again?

sv has a lot of innate defensiveness wdym

  • 2 charges of sotf
  • turtle
  • no cd on exhil
  • spirit bond defensiveness
  • actually functions with predators leech

Is there anyone who’s surprised SV hasn’t caught up with the other class/specs? It’s more sustainable than before, but that doesn’t mean the competition got nerfed down to SV’s level.

Other class/specs can still use their DCDs fully offensively. We still can’t use Turtle offensively.

Forget it anyway because Mists is now live and it provides the best SV Hunter on the official market. Double Deterrence with customizable Glyph and Talent options. With Mirrored Blades it can be used offensively vs. casters. It can’t be used offensively, but this is the old style SV that used a pet AND was a dotter.

I seem to stay alive just fine. But i guess it depends on what content your doing as well as experience.

What?

But BM is taking direct damage far less often.

hunters/sv spends focus so very fast that the CD of exhil is practically nothing. I should have clarified.

how do you figure? they take the same instances of unavoidable damage, just that SV takes less b/c of spirit bond. if you’re talking about avoidable damage then that’s kind of a skill issue no?

Survival feels pretty decent. 2 charges of sotf, passive 6% DR and exhilaration reducing CD based on focus spent. The pet can taunt and some pets, such as fox, has a decent cooldown for good dodge chance. You can always back off and shoot eagles at the enemy for a bit as well.
