Just in, using any device other than a keyboard and mouse to control your client (foot pedals, joystick, trackball) is considered exploitative and will result in a permaban (yes, permanent with no appeal).
Don’t believe me? Give it a try.
Blizzard’s response is that “keyboard and mouse are considered primary inputs, any other device is not”.
Feel bad for anyone who needs something other than a traditional keyboard and mouse to control their PC for whatever reason.
client cant detect if/when you’re using razer synapse macros though, also screw blizzard I knew someone who raided with no hands and used modified hardware to get by, this is almost criminal.
Trackballs are a type of mouse. They are pretty much indistinguishable from mice because they use the same tech. If he is claiming it will get you banned, then he is trolling or, as Rorshak is saying, he is just trying to claim everything is banned to cover up why a friend or guildmate was banned.
I am afraid I’d need to see a source on it as well. I’ve seen plenty of counter posts over the past decade with players who have handicaps that have used pedals or modified hardware to be able to play. The foot pedals would essentially be no different than myself having bound skills to my Razor mouse.
again…the TBC is based on shadowlands framework which has hooks that specifically support this kind of thing without the need of any external application or software.
By the way…is anyone even aware of how Blizzard is able to know you are using external applications? Its pretty damn scary what they do and hope you people have looked into it.
Only thing I can think of is if someone is using 3rd party software to remap keys for the foot pedal and track pad that isn’t the software that the device uses by default or what windows uses by default.
You mean thumb ball mouse?. . .
It’s just a freaking mouse that you use the ball to move around instead of your wrist. . . What the absolute _____…
Any source for this OP?
Because trackball is a commonly used type of mouse for those with minor wrist issues and those like myself that just prefer easier mouse control and movement with minimal desk space.
