FOMO is not essentially skill related. If someone wishes they could get the dark shore event mounts or cosmetics from BFA warfronts how is that them wanting something they couldn’t get because they aren’t “skilled enough”.
They can’t get these things because they were a limited time event not an event that targets a limited skill set. That type of design interacts with FOMO because it encourages you to stay subscribed to get items or you’ll never have a chance at them again. In some examples FOMO has absolutely no relation to your ability so I don’t understand why you can’t see this.
Limited time events are good marketing, but to say they don’t encourage FOMO on occasion ignores the evidence. Further, making this into a skill issue is just silly.
Exactly, people did not have to have an elite skill set at the game to get that mount. They merely had to be able to play the auction house or have been subscribed during the ludicrous gold making of the war lords of draenor mission tables.
This is another example that cuts against the point that people who don’t like FOMO are just bad players.
Or, you just needed hours and hours of time to run old raids and kill massive amounts of trash for mats before they nerfed everything, during the short (7-9 month?) period after people learned it was going away.
Citation please. You actually believe that 100% of the people who do not like FOMO in this game or unskilled players? That’s absurd. Also, I would love to know how you’ve verified the ability of each FOMO hater and by what standard you judge what is good. Likely your metrics suck and you’re using the bad player trope to dismiss someone who has a position you don’t like.
I have already told you back then that BellularGaming did a poll about FOMO on twitter with over 10k people participating. 60% are against FOMO in general.
Given the examples I bring in this topic, several items should not be FOMO in general. They need to be available to the player base.
Everyone that I have seen posting on the forums and using the term “Fomo” are either obviously not good at the game or hide on Alts to hide their lack of success.
Just a glance at anyone using a buzz word. Using “FOMO” is like asking for trigger warnings. No one that’s actually good at the game has complained about it.
Says the people crying about rewards they can no longer get.
As someone who has earned several titles, mounts, and other things that is no longer obtainable, i am perfectly ok with stuff being available again for the players to EARN.
Also you look bad dude. Discriminating ppl for wanting to EARN old content goodies, or do removed quests as being bad is just sad.
