Am I the only one looking at these pictures like someone just out random circles everywhere? Maybe it’s because I’m on my phone but your post has a fairly coherant argument… but the pictures just seem random with random things circled.
Gaming companies in general no matter the game preys on FOMO for profit reasons… they are not going to change it because it has been on since… well scarab lord was a thing it went down the line for “worse” with everything that isnt up for grab anymore unless you’re willing to spend a gold cap sometimes on the BMAH and even so if you’re not fast enough you don’t get it…
Class fantasies system broke since legion I think, yeah artifacts were great but the power that it cost after WoD class design (mind you, not the best clearly content wise but class fantasy was somewhat still there… despite alot of specs needing some tuning balances)
Overrall you have two paths here: or you tone down your expectations in general and pay/play the game or you could simply move on… I personally think all gaming companies will use FOMO as a sell point no matter what…
Let’s have another approach with this. Why would they need to use the Blood Elf heritage armor colorization at all for this store mount? They could have used a different color and design in the end but why do they use the very same colors the heritage armor uses?
It’s hard to see it on the phone. But it shows either a clear connection to other items, flaws or sloppy work. Look at them again when you’re at home, on a PC.
Or you follow FF14’s system and put old content on the cash shop. The best compromise in the end. Free inGame for a limited time, otherwise pay up.
I do wish we could get more NPC only stuff, it’s rather odd that we build such a large rapport with so many factions in the WoW setting without ever really getting anything from them, some of the covenants for example got NPC stuff while others seem to purposefully go out of their way (Night Fae cough cough) to keep those assets out of player hands.
mmmm I don’t agree with your FOMO point of view. For me FOMO in wow is not that real, each season they put a reward for m+/pvp/raid. They are like a minature goal each season that players can look forward to and many of them just take time not really that much skill. I think the issue is that people see some people get the mount the first two weeks and instantly complain that they don’t have it. I enjoy having one season to get one specific mount, if i want it ill have to sharpen my skills to be good enough to get it.
I would’t mind more armor color or the ability to change the color of our armors, user inscription for that since they dont want to bring back glyph for some reason.
Why are you making the association with the heritage armor erroneously? Those colors are generically associated with blood elves. That’s why they used the colors for the heritage armor.
not really gatekeeping you where not there when realesed so you don’t get it, plain and simple. Yea there should be more class fantasy but that i think could be fixed with glyph giving different spell effects.
That’s perfectly fine but then again, new players and latecomers should not be punished either.
Well, you just answered your question on your own and proved my point. It is a heritage armor-like mount and in the end, why was it needed to put on the store?
For all the heated debates about “my immersion, Alliance have Blood Elves now”, they made it very easy for any Alliance-player to get some TBC Blood Elf gear from a raid and pretend to be a Blood Elf. I suppose the group behind these topics would be actually more offended about making their mount available to everyone but I guess they never truly cared enough for the Blood Elves in the end.
its not punishment’s its just you missed the buss. Get exited for the next one, like you can’t get classic nax gear anymore. So if I see someone with it im always super hyped for them.
But not everyone thinks this way, as you can imagine. FOMO makes only sense with items which have no association with the general lore or are not part of items which are needed because the overall class fantasy is lacking. A random raid tier set is fine, as long as it does not contains transmog items which are desirable in the future.
all raid items will most likely be desirable in the future thats a good reason to get them…
I don’t think what you are describing is FOMO, is more like oh i want this now and i should have the opportunity to get it, but you missed your chance when it was available for x y reason.
Has nothing to do with elitism. I wish I could get the mage tower weapon appearances on a couple toons I either didn’t play then or didn’t play.
Same goes with the mop challenge mode sets.
Stuff is time sensitive for a reason. You would be better off asking for new stuff like A mog set for KsM.
I don’t think he understands what FOMo means.
I just want to jump in and say that in this the year of our lord 2k22, Oceanic players still have a toy to turn the night sky into a daytime sky to reflect the actual time of day that it is here in upsidedown world.
However, it’s a 2 hour duration on a 24 hour CD.
Someone needs to be put on trial for this.
adds “FOMO” to the “Annoying Buzzwords” list
All these streamers and their elite access to ask developers direct questions and none of them ever think to ask “hey, why are toy cooldowns so astronomically stupid?”
If you spent even a fraction of the time actually doing content instead of screaming FOMO at everything you don’t like (Hint, Seasonal content isn’t FOMO, PvP Rewards Aren’t FOMO, Unique Rewards for the Top Tier of players in their catagory Aren’t FOMO) Then Maybe you might actually have some of these.
Like seriously, In the time you spend writing this and every other “FOMO” Response you could of done enough mission tables to buy the damn goblin rocket.
yeah just get excited after being disappointed over missing out. makes perfect sense right
yeah you can its up almost every single day in the black market
If you miss out make better choices.
Everything what has an expire date is FOMO by default. Seasonal events and rewards, special offers, etc. WoW offers not enough to justify FOMO in general for all the money they earn.
The make your voice heard. The High Elf players got what they have asked for, so can you.
I don’t understand the thought process for this at all. Why would the developers do this in the first place? The effect is only visible to the player themselves.
We already made calculations for this.
Let’s suppose you have four characters where you can earn 3k a day through the dalies and mission tables, it will net you between 372k-380k a month, depending on rng and other missions.
You will never make the money through this way without sacrificing your enjoyment, especially after the old dungeon gold farming has also nerfed which is how people got the AH mount.
“Your parents should have conceived your earlier so you can play sooner, then this wouldn’t have had happened in the first place.”
