FOMO and why Trading Post is bad for you the consumer

Quoting Star Wars does not make your post more reasonable.

Its cosmetics which they are basically giving us for free.

The way things work on this forum:

They change something. Some people complain.
They don’t change something. Some people complain.
They charge real money for something. Some people complain.
They dont charge real money for something. Some people complain.

There really is not a win/win scenario for Blizzard.

Cool to have options that don’t impact gameplay using rewards from logging in.

This is a win win all around.

Imagine reading the news post fully to understand the system.

ESO did something similar where you got currency towards cosmetics for logging in daily. This sounds a bit similar to the Darkmoon Faire as a monthly cosmetic. I’ve not tested it out yet but can understand mixed feelings about FOMO. Certainly my other bnet will not get these much. Trading Post has my interest but will see like anything else.

They rotate back in. Yep.

You’re incorrect, it’s a monthly thing that lets you get what you normally couldn’t. It alleviates FOMO.

This made me laugh, its a bit hard to believe an ex-lover tried to kill you for political, or religious reasons in a surprise attack.

Wahhhh you missed out on video game items because you refused to participate or weren’t around for it.

My lord, do you all run around and cry to every company in the world that have discontinued things from years ago and can no longer buy them?

This is a video game. Get over it.

No no, go on OP, I wanna see more ranting!

Didn’t even get the quote correct. "So this is how liberty dies. With thunderous applause. "

It wasn’t cause these reason, i explained it earlier in this thread

a video game that has historically relied on FOMO practices to bring subs back or keep them

Can we stop please? Fomo is in your head and only in your head.

Blizzard is no more responsible for making sure you keep that under control then they are about your anxiety about social interactions.

None of the stuff is important in the grand scheme of things. make minimal effort get some kind of reward… It should be a slam dunk

As someone who is vehemently against FOMO, this is a great system. You get Ingame rewards for Ingame participation. The rewards and currency gains are predictable and can be considered a bonus for being subscribed and they used the word rotation meaning you will see the items again.

Fomooooooooooooo
:dracthyr_cry_animated:

I really don’t see this new thing in a negative light like it’s being blown up to be. Oh. I get free currency to spend on what I want a month? Okay. Sweet.

It’s not even a new concept. It’s like weekly On things… Only you get it for free and all at once.

How you can find the negative in that is just impressive in a bad way

Yeah it’s just weird. People have been asking for these rewards to be added in game to work for, but then turn around and scream fomo and compare it to predatory cash grabs. Like. Come on y’all. They’re giving us free points to spend on what we want.

That new flail is mighty tempting. :dracthyr_love_animated: And is that an ogre companion pet? I need to know.

No you won’t… They aren’t putting a gun to your head…

I read the article. It says the items will rotate, and if you can’t get it when it first shows up, don’t worry, it will come back again. It also says there is a limited amount of currency you can get per month no matter what you do. So do what you want and don’t go out of your way to do more (unless it’s something you want to do anyway).

There is NO FOMO involved.
