Follower Dungeons Use Your Alt Characters As the NPC Bots

Follower dungeons in World of Warcraft currently utilize AI-controlled NPC bots, as your teammates. There are discussions and suggestions within the community about potentially using players’ own account alternate characters to replace the bots in dungeons as the NPC bots.

So instead of using the bot characters supplied by the game you could replace them with your own account characters. There actions would still be the same. It would only be a visual cosmetic change.

Has anyone heard any new official information about this topic?

The choice of bots right now is the best optional arrangement. The paladin bot can passively interrupt, the warlock bot can make a soulstone, and the dps are ranged to avoid swing attacks. Not too sure about healer. :wrench::robot:

I haven’t heard anything since Blizzard mentioned looking into the idea.

Honestly, I hope it becomes a reality. I’d love to be able to use my alts as CPU party members in Follower Dungeons. I don’t really expect much other than just a model swap with the current Follower NPC’s, but I would be fine with that.

I’m assuming those without alts or don’t want to opt into it would still use the current set of NPC followers. We’ll see what happens if this idea gets implemented.

Lot of work to put 39 different specs into follower dungeons for no benefit. Wouldn’t hold your breath.

Also don’t think Blizzard wants you setting up 5 melee characters into a group

It would incentivise people to level up alts to fill out their dungeon teams. You could talent and gear different characters to have specific strengths and put together different teams based on specific dungeons.

That would be a lot of fun.
