Howdy all,
I just wanted to comment and say the follower dungeons are really great! It allows me to play with my friends and we are casual players. When we que up with rude, impatient randoms. I understand its an MMO, but when I player with internet folks, thats what guilds are for. My friends dont always have exactly 5 people with the exact right roles at similiar gear levels at all times. The follower dungeons really allows us to just pick anything and jump right in.
I love them too. I have wanted something like Follower Dungeons forever.
- I can now do the quests and see the rest of the story
- I can learn the layout, pulls, and bosses
- I can go at my own pace or go AFK as needed
- I can do the weekly quests like titan disc fragments there!
- I can farm mats via dungeons for crafting
- The panic attack/anxiety issues are greatly reduced
I used to see dungeons as a roadblock to the game for me. Nothing that required dungeons was going to happen, despite 20 years of playing. I USED to do them, but usually with friends who understood. I did use the dungeon finder, but rarely. Never got kicked oddly enough. I found it really really stressful though.
Now I don’t dread seeing a dungeon quest. I don’t dread seeing a weekly that requires a dungeon. I don’t dread having to kill bosses or elites for crafting mats.
I did two nice runs this morning on a level 74 alt to get scrap parts and XP. It was enjoyable. I had FUN working on my rotation and skill use instead of feeling paniced.
Follower Dungeons are just a huge QoL. It also means new players have a chance to learn the dungeon, pulls, and bosses before using group finder. Win win.
EDIT - I have a question though. Can you still use Follower Dungeons if you have a Leaver/Kick debuff? If, not players should be able to do those even if they have a debuff. It is the perfect place to go brush up on the dungeon, or do that quest that takes them the other direction.
They are great for a tailor to do a daily quota of cloth farming.
No, Deserter blocks you from doing follower dungeons as well.
Hrm, that needs to be fixed. Thank you for letting me know how it is currently working.
Edit - I passed on feedback through what minimal channels I do have as well as this thread.
Now they should start rewarding you all 571 gear.
And soon mythic upgrades too.
The best part about WoW is you don’t need to compete with anyone for anything. Having the highest gear score is pretty meaningless when it gets replaced every patch with easy to obtain epics anyway. You can get easy gear and play the way you want. It is great. Play how you want. I wish they just gave everyone access to one set of gear instead of dividing it into a million tiers. But, let people have their stuff.
I think they are fun. Reddit told me I’m full of… well you know… for liking them apparently.
My only complaint is omg the utter CONTEMPT those npcs have when you sign up for healing duty and you don’t keep everyone topped off. I mean dang, you aren’t gonna die at 97% there Shiela…
I think they are fine for awarding quest level gear seeing as they are intended for questing, learning, mat farming. Solo chilling. They DO give gear. Not higher end gear though - because the intent is for players to move on from the learning mode to the harder modes where they earn the higher gear.
Delves, another solo option grants higher level gear though and gear for your followers. Those are intended to be a challenge, not just a handout.
There will be more ways for solo players to gain gear, including gear that is closer to top end. I don’t think Follower Dungeons are going to be the mechanism though. Maybe for catch-up gear.
I did notice as DPS they also tell me what the tank is doing - like waiting for a pack to path back before a pull. Almost like they are teaching folks basic dungeon mechanics Definitely not perfect, but the narrative does have a use!
they are pretty cool tbh. Hopefully a feature they will expand upon eventually.
Golva likes to pull things for tank and tank takes care of it without complaining or booting me out.
Yes! I didn’t even think of all these other useful ways to use them usefully.
Also, these responses are great! Had me rolling at the NPC healing complaints. I’m glad to see others are enjoying them too!
Would be awesome to see Blizzard make a single player based rpg now that there are features like follower dungeons and delves, comp stomp. Not necessarily have to be based in the Warcraft universe. A StarCraft single player rpg with follower dungeons, delves for example, etc would great imo.
It’s designed to be a solo experience albeit limited because there is an artificial limitation.
I did The Rookery today for the Isle if Dorn quest meta. Pretty awesome experience. All I got was gold, experience, and one item at the end. Works for me because I got to see The Rookery’s story.
Because of Follower Dungeons and Delves, I’m on track that my only group activities will likely just be LFR (and random world bosses and things like that).
I may simply not go into a Heroic or M+ instance at all, at least this season.
The fact that I have already got enough iLevel for LFR is already a good thing.
You only think people are rude because you’re lame.
You seem the type to report the second you feel bad.
You mean besides Diablo?
I like them quite a bit but I wish the AI would reduce the crazy by a notch. The AI really likes to make exaggerated movements which at times can mean they pull more mobs(which isn’t a big deal).
Sometimes when I do the weekly dungeon quest I do it as a follower dungeon because it’s quick and easy. I’m not saying leveling dungeons are that much different but in some cases they are. The AI is pretty fast compared to some random dungeons but what makes the AI so nice is their ability to actually use their interrupts. I’d love to see them for heroic dungeons or maybe even other content.
The fact they have a button to make the AI lead, is when I knew the game was dead.
Now you can buy gold and bot legally. #Winning
