So I decided to use follower dungeons for the dungeon quests during the campaign. OMG! I had no clue they were this bad!
The DPS spread out in a radius even if it means they fall off a cliff or pull 3 more packs.
If you try and tank, they insist on immediately blasting every target but the one you pulled getting themselves killed before you have aggro.
If you heal, the tank stands in everything no matter what.
How is the AI this bad? Did they do it intentionally to ensure LFG is still viable?
Hunters are programmed right then, they should always be pulling things that they shouldn’t, making it more difficult and longer. GJ hunter AI, keeping the Huntard tradition going
Ehh, I don’t mind the AI that much, although some dungeons can be a bit annoying if you have a follower as tank, because Garrick will drag all the groups back even if she doesn’t need to, and she’ll randomly pull groups she doesn’t need to as well, sometimes when already fighting one group which sometimes causes her to die.
But 90% of the time it’s fine.
If there’s one thing that disappoints me about Follower Dungeons it’s that the dungeon followers aren’t themed to the dungeon and telling the dungeon story properly. The first follower dungeon that you do as part of the Isle of Dorn campaign, the Rookery is awesome, because all the NPCs are Earthen from Dornagal. But beyond that you’re back to Captain Garrick and the gang and I feel that’s a bit disappointing.
Would have been a lot cooler if say you did the Ringing Deeps dungeons with a group of Kobold followers, and the Hallowfall dungeons with some Arathi followers.
I’m guessing the loot table is like normal dungeons and scales so it would actually be worth it at the beginning of an expansion. But already LFG groups are crashing through normal dungeons so fast that it’s hard for this to compete.
SO don’t run them? Sounds like your requirement for perfection from those is your group means they’re not designed or intended for your elevated l33t sk1llz.
I quite like them. They are intuitive and as far as I’ve seen I’ve not had any issues running anything with them and already I’m 80. I’m pretty critical as well.
We LOVED the followers! They are epicly better than the followers in ESO that is for sure haha. Even when the hunter follower pulld a mob we like like,“Well that is real for sure.” lol Great job BLIZZ!
Plus, you can do them at your own pace, no fear of being judged, no rushing. We dig them in our guild.
It’s a slower way to do the dungeons, but it’s also a method you can use any time, at your own pace, with no stress or drama. It’s an excellent solution to dungeon quests for people who don’t want to wait in a queue or deal with other people.
TWW has so far been an incredibly enjoyable experience for me as somebody who loves to play solo.
I like them gives me a means to do the dungeon and if I have to AFK here and there at times nobody actually has to wait for me or complains including friends so.
I love the follower dungeons. As someone who plays solo, I have the opportunity to see content in real time and progress through quests and quest lines that require dungeons. I haven’t encountered any problems getting through them.
This literally described what playing with actual random players is like… so I’d say the AI is pretty accurate.
That said, I used it for the first time this expansion to get some of the quests done and I went in on my evoker and just blasted TF out of the dungeon. I didn’t even do things like you’re supposed to (for example, killing the individual lieutenant mobs before the second boss of dawnbreaker… I just went straight to boss, pulled the boss and nuked it).
