Follower dungeon XP watch

Question: Did Bliz ever state if they had an intended use case for the Follower Dungeons?

Yes. To allow players to learn dungeons at their own pace and give them the freedom to experiment

I kinda wish this was for level 1-60 as well. It would help learning a new role, like healer or tank.

Shouldnt be anything wrong with it.
People avoid dungeons for a reason. Either a person issue…or like me, I HATE players in this game. The behavior in 5 man runs made me go from loving it to dreading even clicking the icon to sign up for a dungeon. Cant stand them at all now. Used to just be a current content thing in BFA and SL, but then the wipe causing circus clowns actually found a way to cause wipes in leveling dungeons, lmao. Then screaming in the chat box about how everyone else in the run is to blame. Just aint worth the time investment hoping THIS will be one of the good runs knowing that theres a good chance ‘that player’ will be there to make a scene. lol.

We’re avoiding group content either because we never liked it in the first place…or human beings made us hate it.
Either way we aint doing it.
So offer the follower dungeons and make them WORTH spending the time investment…ie some experience, some mogs and some gear, even leveling gear will be fine.
That or expect them not to get used even if the limit per day is increased…ie yet another feature that could have been a great addition blown to crap because of…yet again, bad decisions and control issues.

They’ll still get there… Eventually.

And this is why they should never add new systems to this game…

Blizz: Hey we heard you want a system to allow you to learn mechanics at your own pace. Here you go.

SOME Players: HOW DARE YOU INTRODUCE A SYSTEM THAT DOESN’T GIVE GREAT XP AND NOT LET ME USE IT TO AVOID OTHER PLAYERS!!! Wasted effort, control issues, etc etc…

They were pretty upfront with their intent when they announced follower dungeons. I don’t know why anyone would be surprised. And I’m sure Blizz would be ok if you didn’t use it. They capped your daily usage to 10 dungeons anyway.

I guess what you mean to say is you can’t realistically use those dungeons to level quickly? A lot of people don’t zoom to max in a day.

Leveling is so fast anyway who cares if someone wants to level in follower dungeons. It’s hard to understand blizz at times. If it kills LFD I guess group content ain’t all that great in the first place or it would never die.

I was under the impression it was less about LFD and more about slowing down bots.

Practice your spec / role and dungeon mechanics in a safe environment.

Exactly.
its HYSTERICAL, as it always is, watching people trying to defend crap like this.
Im just putting them on ignore and not bothering wasting the keystrokes to respond.

You can level casually in a couple days into current content. 60-70 isnt long either.
Just let people level the way they want to.

for god sake…we here at this crap again? lmao.
Feels like that “15 renown for all factions” to get OLD flight kind of garbage on repeat here.

No matter what this company does, there is perpetually something they seem to be compelled to do to add some irritation factor to it.

  • You want old flight? Get renown up with all these groups to have the worse version of flight. lol
  • You want dragonriding in old content? Sure thang hoss…but we’re gonna slow it down for literally no valid reason. No one who hates DRing will use it and those ofus who love it can EASILY handle it at full speed in old content. pointless restriction.
  • you hate dungeons with other players? here ya go…oh, heres a list of restrictions that’ll make it pointless too.

Id add the loot-a-rang to that list but Im sick of talking about that joke.

I hadn’t heard that but that would make a lot of sense.

Were people expecting to use them to level? Trying to make the mindless dungeon grind even more empty?

They are a learning tool, even if it is a bad one since you aren’t going to learn much in a normal mode dungeon which can be done without any effort.

It was billed as a learning and gearing tool.

That is, I admit, quite silly.

Leveling has always been something you can do solo. There is absolutely no reason to nerf solo dungeon leveling.

Besides, it would be fun to be able to play a zone’s quest chain right into its dungeon’s conclusion while leveling. You shouldn’t have to take a break from leveling just to see how the story ends. :upside_down_face:

What people have seemed to read into was that it was gonna be for leveling solo. It was Never billed that way. it was billed for learning and gearing. I am under the impression anyway that most people gear as fast as they can then chain run the heroics anyway.

All that being said your point is valid and reasonable. If we all use it and make it popular then maybe that a change we push for, but if we all knock it down and don’t use why would they even bother making that change.

Thats the point of it. do your questing get the dungeon quest and move on with the story with out having to go back. Oh and you want to try tanking here you use this tool to try it out. While doing all that here is somegear to get you to heorics. Was never billed as a leveling expirence.

I hunted high an low for information and played with it on the PTR since I am teach my SO to play and I thought it would be option. do I wish we could solo level with it, sometimes yes but what I really wish for is people to actually play together, I remember when I first started people took their time and laughed and joked during runs, they were glad to help other learn

i think follower dungeons should give more XP and more loot. anything else is a slap in the face to those of us who were restricted by blizzard to our “solo only” accounts

It doesn’t have to be. Every single activity in this game, even just archeology, gives you EXP until you ding max.

no, I wouldnt want it giving too high of a gear ilvl, personally, Just leveling gear…green drops…would be fine in my opinion.
So I could have heirlooms on, hit DF content, run follower dungeons and quests to get all my gear updated to at least leveling gear…that would be perfect.

But they need to give a little experience to…or whats the point after ive learned a class/spec? For those who have one character or only like one class, theyre useless as well if they dont offer any experience.
IF blizzard wants them used, some green gear, some experience and definitely mogs to get…otherwise Im imagining some joke camera feature added that Ive never used once and have no interest in bothering with even figuring out how to use. lol.

This has a lot of potential. They should make it worth bothering with…because IF its just a training thing for a new class, its going to have been a total waste man hours bringing it to the game in the first place.
It should have been set up to be an alternative way of running dungeons for those who just wont do dungeons in a group of players for whatever reason…including some of those rewards.
