Follower Dungeon... meh so far

According to their hotfix post, there’s a 5% xp penalty for each follower. So if you run with all 4, yea you’re losing 20% xp. The solution is not to run with all 4. Grab a buddy or 2, and fill the group with AI and you’ll be better off.

I’ve played this game since day 1 when I bought the CDs at bestbuy.

I’ve begged for this kind of thing in the comment section every time I unsubbed and I’ve subbed and unsubbed so many times.

Thank you Blizzard for finally allowing me alone or me with my bro to do a dungeon despite my high level suckage.

The gear it drops seems about right and I have Delves to look forward to later. Do I wish there was a way to play at higher than normal, yes, BUT, I’m too grateful to let the begging for even more kick in yet.

Once again, it’s INFINATELY better than what I had before which was nothing. Hopefully, they’ll tweak it a bit to allow for progression but even if they don’t Delves are comming.

Thanks again

For those that do enjoy grouping with others, I envy you, but now I envy you a bit less.

That is the best advantage for this feature. Instead of waiting the next expansion for mogs that I am missing. I can farm them now and not fight with others on drops.

you want to get the look of all 5 players?

Blizzards actual secret reason for adding the follower dunfeons.

Reverse psychology

It’s cool you’re a grouper. Some of us have things we need to do in RL and need to walk away for a moment, now we can.

Tried one as a dps. The tank wouldn’t initiate so I had to pull a pack, the tank then runs past the pack I pulled and leaves 4-5 mobs wailing on me. The healer was casting heals on the full health dps while the tank was dying. Pulled another pack and the tank decided to back track and pull mobs we ran past.

you always could. you just had to type “brb 30sec” as a common courtesy for the people you are letting down.

My experience was entirely different.

I ran an Algeth’ar Academy.
I went as DPS.
I clicked the big button in the middle of the screen to let the AI lead, and we were off and running after the tank asking me to check my buffs and letting me know i had to use the cloud/wind node thingy to be swept from platform to platform.

Tank would mount up and wait for me to mount and follow.

The tank ran the path a human would have.
Pulled and held aggro all by itself.
Healer never let any of us die.
I don’t think I ever went low on health at all.

I thought it was fun.

None of my AI ran off by itself or pulled other things or let others die.
Nothing like that happened.
I had none of these problems.

They seem basically to be fleshed out proving grounds — all the things proving grounds should have been from the start. Running them for gear/xp seem like secondary goals, they feel more like tutoring sessions, either alone or with a mentor or two.

I thought the point of follower dungeons wasn’t a means to power level but to see the content at your own pace and try new builds/specs? I see it working as intended tbh

I want to get the loot of 1 player. 3 dungeons and 1 green belt dropped. Out of 3 dungeons.

i got a blue in my one run.

it’s personal loot so … RNG is back. Would be cool to see what loot the other AI get even if it’s just text.

I haven’t done a follower dungeon yet, but if I can actually go through dungeon and finish casting a spell before things die, the missing 20% of exp is worth it.

I think the NPCs are so bad and so slow + ignore so many mechanics that they are almost worse for a new player to experience. There’s no stakes, nothing to it, just AFK and bots win all over a slow boring period of time. Way more fun to chain pull and wipe the group only to then leave or even solo. My Priest is more tanky than Garrick and I do more DPS than all of the NPCs combined.

I liked follower dungeons except the healer couldn’t heal out of a paper bag. Though since it is a new feature i’m sure they will make adjustments later on. I would like to see them buff the druid healer just a tad bit more with stronger heals. Give her a bigger mana pool as well she is always running out of mana in mid combat.

The dps could be a bit stronger just a tad as well. The tank is fine she was able to hold aggro.

A friend of mine will like this because they enjoy playing solo or with friends, so this would be the best of both worlds for them. For dungeon quests or crafting needs they usually ask me to just run them through the normal mode of a dungeon. Getting exp and other things will no doubt be appealing.

So, I ran a follower dungeon with a lowly gear character and it was pretty fun. This is something that definitely can be expanded upon and I think a lot of people would like it.

Well yeah… I do that too. For those times I make sure I got nothing going on for an hour while I’m grouping. We don’t have to live by deadlines and rush to play a game.

Wow is to play when you have free time from reality. Gotta manage a balance between them better. The AI thing doesn’t really help with this as it really doesn’t offer much other that empty silence.

I find wow without friends to play with gets pretty lonely to the point of uninteresting but I’ve been part of a guild in wow since I started in 2007. This is the point of a Massive multiplayer Online roleplaying game.

To not want the MM part seems counterintuitive but I mean if you just hopping into a group for a partial run at least it’s not abandoning a group of players… Again better life/game balance to actually have time to play with free time is ideal.

Its still a nice addition and I’m not saying it’s bad, some players do better with this. I just think if you can’t stay for real life groups you just need better time management.

lmao…thanks for showing us the attitude that makes this sort of thing necessary
