So this might be personal preference, but if I use Arena 1/2/3 Macros do I need to worry about Focus ones? Can I get any examples of binds for those who use both so I can get an idea of how I should be setting it up?
Follow-up Question: If you don’t use focus macros is it still worth having target arena focus bound to a mouse button for mouseover macros?

For my warlock i use focus for spell lock, and arena123 for targeting…
also on my hunter i use focus for axe toss and countershot… BUT i use party123 for roar of sacrifice.

So I can just have focus ones and keep my target binds on my mouse without making extra macros right? Essentially only needing the main target bind and focus?
ok for example on my rsham i have a focus purge focus hex and focus windshear. the only one i actually use SOMETIMES is focus purge and windshear if im really waiting for a cast i know i want to stop. for my purge though i have a macro to combine it with my dispel in the same button so i can press it to dispel my teammates, and then purge off mc on them as well. ever since legion when they added electrocute it’s a habit of mine to target someone to purge since it’s just like offensive mode lol.
i have shear 123 and hex 123 and i press those almost always with focus hex only being outside of arena. it’s legit easier for me to just press alt+789 on naga to windshear than it is for me to press e for focus shear lol. SO i guess what im saying is just mess around with them all and overtime you will know which one you’re most comfortable with and can phase them out over time.
my binds for shear are alt 789
hex is shift 10 11 12
to target arena 123 is alt 456
to focus arena 123 is alt 123
focus hex would be 11
focus shear is e while target shear is shift e
focus purge is 10 but yeah i hardly press that button anymore
i use the same binds for similar spells on all my characters

[EDIT]: I have Arena 1/2/3 Macros currently but I also have Y/G/H bound to my mouse for Kick/Poly/Spellsteal so all I need to do is tap the modifier with my left and the mouse button for the 1/2/3 on each ability, but that leaves no room for focus since all 3 modifiers are already used.
i play using 123 macros for all ccs, nukes, and utility, didnt get into arena until after they were introduced
have found no need for focus macros other than maybe in bgs/wpvp but i just cbf
I use it mainly just to have better vision for someone healing. I typically focus healers and focus silence them because I don’t have to lock them out. I bet 123 is way better for lockout kicks versus a blanket. I do use 123 stuns though.
As somebody that played exclusively with focus macros and then exclusively with arena123 macros I can tell you that arena123 macros are miles and miles ahead of focus macros especially since everybody and their mother is playing a rogue/hunter or nightelf.
123 for spammable cc
Depends on your spec/class and also your preference. For most ranged kicks/cc I have them all in my index finger, r g c v etc and default to focus with a shift modifier to my target. I use alt+a/s/d for focus 1-3 so it’s very easy to interrupt anything on the fly. Thumb alt, pinky a, ring s, middle d, index for the kick or cc necessary at the time.
Pretty sure Venruki and a few others use similar configs.
