I really feel like my character needs some kind of flying spirit wolf mount. I’d even take a 20$ store one. Just don’t make it pop wings out.

Us hunters get the Wolfhawk from class hall. Other than that, there are really no other flying wolves. Maybe more versions of the Wolfhawk would be cool.
The wolfhawk is neat. Gonna start that grind on my hunter at some point.

there is a flying wolf from Shadowlands whose name escapes me atm. It just runs in the air

If I remember right the flying was a mistake and they removed that functionality.

Oh yeah, I remember now. They changed the animation and a lot of us were annoyed. We preferred the original.
I think there needs to be more raccoons and gray squirrels in the game. As someone who has lived on the West Coast all my life and Blizz is on the West Coast (of the USA), there are gray squirrels and raccoons everywhere (well I guess not in the big cities, except in parks).
We also need some Pit Bull pets too.
There’s a few other Slyvern mounts, too. There’s one where you just collect some stuff - most of which can be bought off the AH - and turn it into a guy.

I didnt know about the slyverns. I do remember the lupine but that means SL content… Ardenweald is one if the better zones I suppose.

The Hounds in eastern plaguelands are hounds, but they look pit bull esque in appearance .
I think there are black ones in Legion as well.
The houndmasters dogs in the Scarlet Monestary look intimidating , you can probably tamed the chained ones.

it’s weird to see a flying horse without wings as well but it’s been done with many of them
Less weird imo lol.
One of the original dragon flying mounts in DF you can make the face look kind of wolfish. One of my favorite looks for those.
it probably wouldn’t look weird at all for a literal ghost wolf to be able to fly vs the legion pvp warhorse being able to

It looks cool, I think it still looks weird for a lot of ground mounts to fly though. I’m just gonna have to agree to disagree. Maybe you will get what you want 
Hunters have the Wolfhawk, otherwise the Temperamental Skyclaw is the closest you’re likely to get.
