Where do I pay the gold to fly in both Legion and BfA?

You don’t. You have to do Pathfinder part 1 & 2. Both parts are out for Legion, but only Part 1 is out for BfA. If you search ‘Pathfinder’ in your achievements tab you will see the requirements.

Its punishment.
They tried to take flying away altogether, vowed it would never be in the game again. but enough players made enough noise that someone sat someone down and told them to fix that.
So the devs ate some crow and we got pathfinder.

You have to really want it… it’s it’s own questline lol
It’s basically
Do everything in the zone
Grind reputation until your eyes bleed
It’s not really as bad as it seems. The most time consuming part is the reputations and those only need to hit revered. Just finishing the questing will get you much of the way through that for most reps.
But the payoff is huge. You get permanent passive flying for your entire account. It’s a one and done thing. Like anything else, if you want the carrot on the stick you have to chase it.

Except you can’t get it by chasing it.
I bet most players got Pathfinder 1 months back, but there’s still no way to fly for months to come.
Pathfinder is just a vengeful, underhand way to deny flying in current content.
