In the game, we as players have access to a wide variety of unique mounts, we have dragons, undead horses, elementals, demons, and so on.
And it is fair to say that the designers show their creativity through those, but in my mind, there have been some mounts that have raised my curiosity.
Some flying mounts that are not flying creatures, like the paladin order hall horse, or the Arcanist Manasaber, or Invincible and I was wondering if any of those appear in a comic or book or in game scene. It seems some are pure fanservice, but some seem to have the work in to look like part of the world, and being honest, enchanting a nightsaber to fly like the Arcanist Manasaber or the Priestess Moonsaber from the warfront doesn’t seem lore breaking at all, but we never see those anywhere, like the nightsaber i mentioned, having flavour text as being once used by high ranking priestesses of elune, now being given to the masses because of the need.
Did Arthas ever appear flying with Invincible?
Jaina Proudmoore made an entire ship fly. The city of mages is indefinitely suspended in air. One of the staples of a priest’s ability is to levitate things off the ground, and they’re not even mages.
Things without wings that have the ability to fly aren’t terribly far-fetched in the boundaries of Azeroth. It’s not “pure fanservice” as much as it’s just… they can fly. Flying is not something that is hard to attain or difficult to believe on Azeroth, wings or no.
As for Invincible? In lore, he was never seen flying. But you can easily just presume that somewhere between The Frozen Throne and the time he was looted, the faction of fleshcrafters and necromancers just put wings on him.

Yeah, as I was thinking, for sure not lore breaking at all, but for such a cool element, is not used at all outside of gameplay.
Question is…When do I get my flying pigs? No that one stone construct thing doesn’t count. I want an actual living breathing (in terms of wow) fleshy pig that FLIES that I can call Barbeque
Unrelated but I wish engineers could build a jet pack.
